39 Weeks

Yesterday afternoon we had our 39 week appointment with Dr. Langford.  Nothing new to report, still just 1.5 cm dilated.  I did lose a pound, and one of his staff members said that it is usually a sign that she is coming soon.  I sure hope so, but I am not holding my breath.

I have been getting a little discouraged because I am so so ready. I even stooped to researching how to induce your own labor on the internet, and here is what I have found:
Eating Pineapple - no luck
Taking Red Raspberry Leaf pills - no luck
Eating spicy food - no luck
A glass of red wine - no luck
one other - but no luck there either
Walking my butt off - some luck, but as soon as I stop walking the contractions are gone :(

Here are a few I am not willing to try:
Caster oil - no thanks, diarrhea doesn't sound fun to me
Enema - I think would bring back memories of my Grandma Belem giving me lavados when I had a stomach ache, no thank you!!!
Meditating with Emma - Apparently Emma is feeling unsure of the world outside so if I were to comfort her with meditation it would help her become ready, no thanks.

We discussed induction with Dr. Langford, and we were all for it until we thought about it a little bit longer.  Since it is so close to the end of the year there are several other patients of his that are electing to be induced for tax reasons.  They keep getting bumped because of other women that are going into labor on their own or are having non-elected inductions.  So I think I would be getting even more discouraged having an appointment and getting bumped over and over again.

At this point I am going to pull all of my strength to be patient and just wait for her to come on her own.  We will have our next appointment on Monday so we will see how it goes?!

Festival of Lights

Last Friday night Douggie and I went to the Wild Animal Park Festival of Lights.  I have been trying almost anything to make my labor progress, so we thought a night of walking might help...  turns out it didn't, but oh well.  At least we got dinner out of the deal.

Most of the animals were asleep, but we did find the flamingos awake.

Christmas Dinner at the Aguiñaga House

We joined my mom's side of the family at My Uncle Ruben and Aunt Kelleen's house in Valley Center for dinner and lots of gift exchanges. Getting ready for dinner and watching some games.

I was passing out gifts for the kids gift exchange and my uncle Ruben stopped me. Apparently he thought my belly was cute and made me pose for a profile shot. He said one of these days I will appreciate it. Funny because today I am laughing at it, because I stuffed myself into a non-maternity Gingerbread man shirt. My cousin Josh said maybe if I tickle the Gingerbread man that Emma would come out, I tried it, but no luck. :(

A bit of madness while the kids were opening their gifts..

A group picture of the kids... I can't wait for next year's picture, because little Emma will be there with them! :)

Jacob hung out with me during the adults gift exchange, he is so darn cute!!!
Thank you to uncle Ruben and Aunt Kelleen for hosting! And Thank you to all of the Aguiñaga, Cervantes, Prieto, Covarrubias, Prentice and Ortiz families for such a great family Christmas! We love you all!!!

Christmas Morning...

We got together at Bob & Rose Mary's Christmas morning for presents and breakfast.
Us adults all sat back and watched Jacob open his mountain of gifts. He was so fun to watch. After he was done opening, we all started to open our gifts.
Jacob and his Lightning McQueen Scooter from Douggie and me, he loved it and had Omar open it and put it together right away.

He was hilarious, as soon as he un-wrapped a toy he would take it to the nearest person and ask "open it please." He just couldn't wait to play with them.

Bob opening their gift from Ebit, Omar, Jacob, Douggie and me. What could it be?...

It was the pink Dyson, sorry that it was pink dad, but proceeds went to Breast Cancer Research. That should make you feel better while using your pink vacuum.

Jacob got a huge Tonka Truck, it was a hit, despite his tired eyes.

He later sat in the Tonka and figured out how to push himself around by spinning the wheels.

After all of the madness, Uncle Douggie and Jacob playing with Mr. Potato Head.
We had a great Christmas morning, and even though we don't have many picture of the adults opening their gifts, we loved them all and appreciate every one's generosity.

Christmas Eve!

Christmas Eve we went to 5:30 Mass as a family, and then we all went back to my parents house for dinner and a few early gifts.
Ebit and Dad

The boys after the big dinner, I guess they were a little stuffed.

Douggie thought it would be funny to take a new angle of my belly. The belly is not so bad, but the double chin, yuck!

Jacob was showing off his Christmas PJs with Thomas on them.

Rose and Bob

We had a great Christmas Eve spent with our great family!

Desert Family Christmas

Wednesday night we went to the Jeansonne home for our annual "Desert Family Christmas!"
Bill and Brigitte put on an amazing dinner, with yummy Italian food.

Brigitte, Meghan and Wendy showing their excitement for the fondue dessert bar.

The gift exchange underway.

Even Nicky got a gift... it is his hilarious shirt that says "Bitches love me"

Thank you to the Jeansonne's for hosting such a great party!
And thank you to all of our desert family, we love you all so much and we are lucky to have such a great group of friends!

38 Weeks

So this picture was taken when I was in a much more chipper mood. Today I am not so chipper.
We just had our 38 week appointment and he said all is still going well. I didn't gain any weight this time so that was good news. Other than that I am only 1.5 cm dilated and I am not sure if there was any change in how effaced I am. I was just hoping for a little more progress.
I am not trying to be selfish, but I am so ready, mostly because of lack of sleep. Oh well, now that I am off of work I have lots of time to take naps.
I guess Emma doesn't like yucky weather and wants to wait until after it stops raining. I don't blame her, it is pretty yucky outside.

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas from Mr. & Mrs. "Claws" (Rey and Corona) I know you must think I have lost it, but Christmas and Halloween are the only times I dress up the cats for pictures. I found the best Mrs. Claus outfit this year, I love her hat! And Rey's beard is hilarious, too bad he doesn't think so. They are good sports, and so is Doug for being so patient to help get the pictures of two unhappy cats.

Sports Center Staff Christmas Party

Last night Douggie and I hosted the Sports Center staff Christmas party. We had a a Karaoke theme this year, so that always makes it interesting.
Here are the sports center ladies getting ready to sing "You should have said no" by Taylor Swift. Unfortunately there were no group shots of the guys singing, because most of them were wimps!!!
The Taylor Swift CD was a favorite. Here are Bri and Noel with their adorable rendition of "Love Story."
The highlight of the night was when Kareem arrived late and was put on the spot to sing. He did a great job at Jingle Bells and there is even a video on Youtube to prove it.

Kimi receiving the Employee of the Year award from Peter.

Lisa opening her "gag" gift from the exchange. She ended up with urinal cakes. She also ended up hiding them under our tree as a surprise. It didn't take long to find them, because the "fresh" cherry scent gave them away.
Doug ended up with the "Mamma Mia" DVD which he stole for me, and I ended up with a bunch of keg cups and ping pong balls for beer pong. The gag gift exchange is always a hit.

Woohoo!!!

Cheers to my last day at work!!!
I love my "nog" (it isn't even called egg nog, because it is made from soy). It is not quite the same as the real stuff but it is much better for me and its is my new favorite.
I had this grand plan of leaving work at 2 pm today, then going and getting a pedicure. I ended up getting so busy tying up loose ends I didn't get to leave until 4:30. No pedicure for me, oh well. Now all I have on the schedule is to host our work Christmas Party at the house tomorrow evening and then NOTHING!!! I am looking forward to bundling up on the couch with my favorite blanket and watching movies, I can't wait!

Congratulations Cris!!!

Last night we attended the Graduation/Pinning Ceremony for Cris. She has worked so hard for the past several years, we are all so proud! The WHOLE family showed up to show their support.
Anyssa was even brought to tears because she was so proud of her mommy! Not really, she was throwing a fit for some reason and I know she won't think that this picture is cute, but too bad because I do! :)

Ebit made some signs for us all to hold up, this makes it hard to read them, but they spelled out "Congrats Cris!" They were a hit.

Cris in line with her classmates after getting pinned.

Douggie, Emma and me posing with the brand new R.N.

A great big congratulations hug from Ebit!

Then back to Connie and Richard's house for lots of desserts!

One down, two to go

Last night we had dinner with the Lewko's and Hodgson's.  We exchanged some gifts and asked Jason and Kristyn a bunch of questions about being parents.  We were also eager to join in all of the fun that Jillian seems to bring to the Lewko household (have you seen their blog?).

Here is Heather opening up one of her gifts.

Kristyn opening a famous Marie ornament.

Here is Marie practicing with Jillian.  She's going to be such a great mom.
Both pregnant ladies were able to hold Jillian while us soon-to-be dads, hid at the first sign of an upset baby.

37 Weeks!!!

Sorry that it is a self portrait, but Douggie is at the Metalica concert tonight, so I was left to take a picture of myself.
We had our appointment today with Dr. Lagnford. He said lots of encouraging words letting us know that we are so close! I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I know that I still have a little ways to go, but it is progress. And like that news wasn't good enough, I only gained 1 pound this week!
I have been finding myself trying to "plan" when she will come and I keep thinking of reasons why it can't be certain days. Such a silly 1st time mom, I know! There is no planning in this game, just waiting and letting Emma decide when she will come. Although part of me thinks that she wants to come before Christmas, because she knows Santa is bringing her a Cabbage Patch Kid doll. :)

Happy Birthday Caitlyn!

Sunday afternoon we went to my cousin Caitlyn's 9th Birthday Party.
Jacob loves Emma already! :) He enjoys giving her kisses, and I enjoy it as well, it is so cute!

I wasn't feeling so hot, so I stayed inside and watched the piñata from the couch.

Caitlyn got lots of great presents!

Desert Trip #2

Yesterday, we decided to join our Desert family for a day trip.
Doug just had his HRC kit put on his quad this week, so he was anxious to try it out. I am not sure exactly what the HRC kit does to the quad, but it made it really fast!!!
It was pretty windy out there, you can see in this picture that it kind of looks like snow, but that was just the wind blowing sand.
Douggie tried to make the wind blow him away. Don't worry, despite the wind they got in a couple of good rides.

Douggie's quad all ready. I know that the HRC kit added a new pipe and cam, but not sure what else. I am sure Doug will die when he reads how uneducated I am on his quad.

Off for a ride!

I know I look ridiculous, pudgy, no make-up and wind blown, but I think I was a pretty darn good sport for making the 2 hour drive only 3 weeks before my due date!
My dad said to me before we left, "where is the closest hospital out there?" I told him Brawley, he said " well I guess we can go visit you when you have Emma out there."
I guess he thought we were pushing it by going out there and to tell you the truth so did I, but we made it home safe!

Baby Audrey!

Audrey Iris Frazier
Born 12/06/08
6:06 pm
7lbs 8 oz
19 1/2 inches
The happy Frazier family!

Douggie and I were lucky enough to stop by for a quick visit!

She is oh so precious, I couldn't stop starring at her beautiful little face!

It is great to see how much a little girl can melt a daddy's heart!
Last time I saw Mark we were at his birthday party and he was living it up with Tequila shots. Now all he can talk about is how great it is being a dad and how he can't wait for Doug (and me) to have Emma! These two old college buddies will be so fun to watch with their little ladies.

Now I really am next, we don't have anymore pregnant friends due before me!
