Another week

Emma is 16 weeks today!!!
This week has been a big week for Emma, she is growing up so much.
She can talk (baby talk) and roll over from tummy to back. I can't believe how much she is changing every day.
Look at those eyes... beautiful!

Still working on holding her own bottle.
Yesterday Emma got hungry a little early and we were shopping at Target. I pulled out a bottle and gave it to her. She held all by herself the entire time. I am so proud of her, she can multi-task, eating and shopping at the same time. :)

Here she is rolling over yesterday!!!

I received a phone call from my mom yesterday while I was at work. She asked me, "has Emma rolled over yet, because she just did!" Of course I was thrilled that my little girl has made such an accomplishment, and that my mom and Jacob were there to witness it. But I was also so sad that I missed it. I hung up the phone and started crying and turned to my boss and said, "this work sh*t sucks." He gave me a hug and reassured me by saying that I will be just as excited when I get to see it for the first time. He is right, I was, and I made sure to have the camera handy. I am so proud of my little Emma!

Chatter Box

Our little girl has been talking so much lately.

Her favorite time to discuss her day seems to be when she has about an ounce left in her bottle so it makes feedings so much more enjoyable. I was able to record this shortly before bed time. You gotta love those pjs.

I think she was trying to ask me, "Daddy, how do you get rid of the hiccups?"

Daddy and Emma's day!

Today I locked myself in the house and worked on the pageant program book for 6 hours straight. Douggie was kind enough to watch Emma all day.
Here is the cute duo as they left for church this morning.
Thank you for helping me out and letting me get tons of work done today Douggie! I love you both so much., and missed you lots today!

Happy Birthday Scott

Yesterday was our friend Scott's birthday party.
The day started with a pre-party at their house and then a party bus took everyone wine tasting in Temecula. Douggie was lucky enough to join them for wine tasting, but unfortunately I couldn't because I had a prior commitment.
I did meet up with the group for dinner at Norte in Carlsbad.

The other Matt Harvey, Meghan, Whitney, Kaye (in back) and Kirsten
Some of you may be confused and thinking, that this is not Matt Harvey, but like I said above, this is the other Matt Harvey, so weird that we know two!

Bri and Noel, I wish I could remember what they were talking about, because it sure seems interesting.

Douggie and Me :)

Scott (the really drunk birthday boy) and his beautiful wife Meghan.
I am so sad that this picture is blurry, but I love the look on Scott's face.

Happy Birthday Scott!!!

15 weeks

Emma is officially 15 weeks today!

Here are a few pictures of the cutest little girl around.  Well the cutest little girl in my opinion at least! :)

She is getting so good at holding her own bottle.  She doesn't do it all of the time, but she sure tries.

The flower fields

Sunday afternoon we took a trip to the flower fields in Carlsbad.  My parents, Doug's parents and his brother Andy joined us.

Here is our happy little family :)

Happy 50th Birthday Brigitte!!!

On Saturday night after Emma's Baptism festivities, we headed up to the Rose Family Home for Brigitte's Surprise 50th Birthday Party.
The party was themed "Black, White & Wine." It was fun to see everyone dressed up in black and white and of course we all enjoyed the wine. :)

Brigitte was really surprised.  She even turned around and went back outside because she didn't want anyone to see her crying. She was also embarrassed because she was dressed so casual. She thought she was just coming over for pizza and some Wii.  Lucky for Brigitte, Bri thought ahead and had some clothes for her to change in to, such a sweet daughter.

One of the cute decorations. Pretty creative if I do say so myself, maybe I think that because I made the bottles, and Bri did the flowers. :)  It is hard to see, but there are personalized labels on them.

Some of the pool room.  Bri and I were in charge of the decor, and I think it turned out pretty well.

Brigitte's wine bottle cake.

Emma even dressed in her black & white, plus a little pink.

Me and Bri, I LOVE her dress.

The folks, Emma and the in-laws.
Emma was the only kid there and she was so well behaved and slept most of the party.

Me and Nana (our desert family Nana)
Poor Nana broke her knee on our last desert trip over Easter.  She spent most of the evening in this chair.

Happy 50th Brigitte!!!

More Baptism pictures...

So as I promised here are some more pictures from Emma's Baptism.

Getting dressed up for the big day!

Such a happy family!:)

I love the looks on every one's faces, they are all focused in on Emma's reaction.  She really didn't have much of a reaction at all.  She was asleep just before he poured the holy water on her.  It woke her up, but just for a second, and she didn't even cry.

Proud daddy and his little girl:) I love them so much!

Emma's padrinos (Godparents) Tía Lizzy & Tío Omar

The kids playing at her after party.

Rachel (2 weeks old), Emma (14 weeks old) & Jillian (20 weeks old).
Such a cute bunch of little ladies.
So funny that Emma looks like a giant next to these girls.  She is a tall one for sure.

Emma trying on one of her baptism gifts.  Thank you Newell family for these super cute sunglasses.

Thank you to all of our friends and family who helped make Emma's big day so special!!!

Emma's Baptism

On Saturday morning we all went to church for the baptism of our little girl.
We were so lucky to be surrounded by lots of our family and friends!

Father Burt baptizing Emma.  Emma is so privileged to have Tía Lizzy & Tío Omar as her padrinos (godparents).

There were 5 other children baptized with her, Emma had the biggest crowd by far.

Grandpa Bob, me, Douggie, Emma and Grandma Cherie

Me, Douggie, Emma, Papa Bob & Grandma Rose

Doug's family was able to make it, his cousin Jeff flew in from Seattle, his uncle Ed and Aunt Diane drove down from Beaumont, his brother Andy drove down from Irvine and his parents Bob & Cherie flew in from Seattle.  Emma is one loved little gal!
Starting to serve up the yummy brunch food.

I LOVE this picture of Wendy and Emma.  Such a sweet little gal, and Wendy is pretty sweet as well!

God Bless you Emma, we love you!!!

I will try and post some close ups of Emma later, but I have waited far too long to post these so I figured some pictures were better then none.

14 Weeks :)

Today our little angel is 14 weeks.... so crazy!!!

She had a very busy day:
- Slept in until 6:30 :)
- Went to Grandma Rose's
- Tía Ebit watched her
- Played with Jacob
- Went to the mall with mommy
- Met up with daddy at the mall
- Came home and took a nap
- Jumped to 4 1/2 ounces in a bottle (from 4 oz.)
- Played with her new fave, Ella the elephant
- Went to Target with mommy
...and she is done!

She fell asleep as soon as we got home from Target and has been asleep ever since. Please don't worry, this picture makes it look as if Ella is suffocating her, but it is not.  Ella is further away from her face then it looks.

Turning 14 weeks is exhausting!

We love you sweetie!!!

Easter with the fam...

We headed home from the desert early and got ourselves all cleaned up for Easter at my parent's house.

Emma even got cleaned up.  This was her first kitchen sink bath! :)

In Easter dress #2, and absolutely adorable!

In bunny ears and an Easter bib from Tia Ebit, Tio Omar and Jacob.

Before the big kids started the Easter Egg Hunt, Emma had a chance to gather a few eggs.

The kids egg hunt.

My grandparents were in town from Arizona, so along with my Mom's family, my Dad's cousins Janet and Charlie and their families attended as well as my great Aunt Jeanne.

Thanks for a great Easter!

Emma's 2nd desert trip!

We headed out to Ocotillo this weekend for a Easter desert trip.
As usual, we had a fabulous time with our desert family!!!
It was pretty windy on Friday and Saturday, which stunk! And of course as luck would have it, this morning as we were packing up, it was beautiful with NO wind.  Oh well, we still had a blast.

Our little funny bunny.  She adapted so well, her only dislike this weekend was the wind.  I don't blame her, like I said before, it stunk!

Trying to hold her own bottle.  She has been grabbing her bottle every time we feed her.  She is close to holding it on her own, but not there yet.

Douggie and Emma :)

Our yummy Easter spread.  As usual, there was way too much food. Each desert trip we have a Saturday night community meal.  Each family is in charge of bringing a dish and we have one big dinner.  Saturday we had Ham and all of the fixings.

Bill was trying to convince Wendy to give up on her bet.  She was bet that she wouldn't make it until midnight.  Normally she goes in to bed at 8 or 9 when we are out there. Well she did it, and she was sure entertaining, but had way too much to drink.

Noel and Bri :)

Our happy little family!
The wind died down after Emma's 11 pm feeding.  Doug came in from the fire and offered to stay in with Emma.  Instead I decided to bundle up our kiddo and go out to the fire as a family.  She loved staying cozy and fell right back to sleep.

It turned into a beautiful night and a few of us even went on a short night ride.  It was such a pretty moonlight (and head light lit) ride.

The Easter Bunny even found Emma out at the desert, lucky girl!

Emma in her 1st Easter dress.  She had a wardrobe change at Papa Bob's and Grandma Rose's house later.

Bri holding Emma.  Bri isn't a huge fan of holding little babies.  She was in the delivery room when Emma was born, but decided that she wouldn't hold Emma until she was 3 months.  She even wrote Emma's 3 month birthday on her work calendar.  We held her to her word and she held Emma this morning. Of course Emma made it difficult on her and stiffened her self out.

The desert gals.
Bri, Katie, me, Emma, Brigitte, Wendy and Nana

We packed up early this morning and headed home to go to Easter at my parent's house.  Stay tuned for pictures from Easter with the fam.

Thank you for a fantastic weekend desert family!
