Easter dinner at Papa and Abuelita's

We had a wonderful Easter dinner at my parent's house today.
We had lots of family and lots of great food.

We always have a huge egg hunt for the kids.
This year we changed it up and did the big hunt in the big grassy area in their neighborhood.

Emma got a lot of eggs and loved holding her basket full.
She showed everyone and was so proud of her eggs.

We had such a great time with all of the family.
And we feel so lucky to be able to spend time with everyone.

Easter morning

The Easter bunny left Emma a basket full of goodies at the doorstep.

She loved her hammer.
Anytime ANYTHING is broken, she always says "fix it, hammer."
Now she has her own hammer to fix everything.

Then she had a naked dance party.
She was absolutely hilarious!

Emma looked absolutely adorable in her Easter dress.
Too bad the weather was yucky and she nearly froze while taking these pictures.
She loves her Easter bunny dress that we bought when we were in Austin.

Then we were off to church and then to my parent's house for Easter dinner with my mom's family.

Block party

Yesterday evening our neighborhood had its annual spring block party.

I did an Easter egg hunt for the kids.

Emma had such a great time playing with everyone.
I love that our neighborhood does this.
And one huge reason why I love it... the food! We have some serious cooks in our neighborhood and I had a great feast of Thai beef salad, chili, and a cupcake

Padre game

Our Asst. director for the department is leaving us to go to Poway as the new director. She is a HUGE Padre fan, so the department decided to surprise her by getting picnic terrace tickets to the Friday night game.
We had such a great time and stuffed ourselves with all we could eat burgers and dogs and all you could drink beer. This is a great way to see a game.

We were so close to the Padre bull pen.

Douggie made a last call beer run to make sure he wouldn't run out before the game was over.

So even though we didn't watch much of the game, I still had a great time hanging out with everyone outside of work.

Coloring Easter Eggs with Rachel

Friday afternoon Rachel and her mommy Heather came over to color Easter Eggs.
We did it together last year, so we decided to get the girls together again this year.

I love coloring eggs.
I think I loved it more than the girls did.

Last desert trip of the season

We spent this past weekend out at Ocotillo Wells for our last desert trip of the season.
It was a special trip because we also celebrated Wendy and Brigitte's birthdays.

It was a hot trip, but we still had a great time.
Douggie after a long dusty ride.

Naps at the desert are the best.

Our good friends Rachel and her mommy Heather came out and joined us Saturday afternoon. And Emma was so excited because they had a slumber party with us.

We attempted to take them for a ride in our fun pink rhino, but turns out the starter went out.
Looks like it should be an easy fix, but it was a bummer to have it happen.

Douggie took the girls for a quick ride in Travis and Wendy's RZR to make up for it.

We played in the sand a lot.

Travis took Heather on a fast and fun ride.

Emma and Rachel were "driving" for what seemed like forever.
They had so much fun pretending.

We went on a walk up the big hill.

And we enjoyed some cool beverages in our little chairs.

Emma's favorite part of the mornings in the desert is the walks with Wendy and the dogs. Rachel joined them for a bit, but then decided there were too many dogs.

We had such a great trip and can't wait for next desert season.

Our trip to Austin Texas

Wednesday we headed off to Austin Texas.

Emma was a dream on the 2 flights there.
With the exception she didn't nap when we wanted her to. Instead she decided to nap as we just landed in Austin.

We stayed our 1st night in this funky fun hotel that had a window from the shower to the bedroom. Emma thought it was so fun to play peek a boo.

We had yummy food at Matt's El Rancho.

Douggie and Emma did a little hot tubbing.

Thursday morning we headed over bright and early to the Frazier house.
After a little play time at the house, we headed to Phil's Icehouse for lunch.

Kinda annoyed that these strangers just had to be in the picture.

We took a little afternoon walk around their adorable neighborhood.

Played in their super fun backyard.

And then enjoyed bath time together.

Friday morning Emma opened up her welcome gift from Audrey.
It was so sweet of Audrey to think of her.

Then we headed off to Zilker Park.
Emma just couldn't get this whole time change down and decided to take a nap instead of playing at the park.

She did wake up in time to go on the train with Daddy and Audrey.

Friday night we were so excited to go to dinner at the Salt Lick in Driftwood.
I can't get over how cute these girls look!!!

The gang minus the photographer Mark.
This place was so much fun, and the best part is that it is BYOB.
So we showed up with a cooler of beer and enjoyed our yummy BBQ.

The smoker inside made the place smell amazing.

After dinner we sat outside and watched the band for a bit.

Courtney and sweet baby Charlotte.

After dinner my friend Maria drove in from Houston to hang out.
Then the guys had a night out to and went to grab a few beers.

Saturday morning we enjoyed a little quality time with baby Charlotte.

We went to lunch at the Hula Hut on Lake Austin.

Mark with sweet baby Charlotte.

Maria, Audrey and Courtney.

Doug's cousin Aaron and his girlfriend Shelly live in Austin and joined us for lunch.

After lunch we headed to the trailer park for a little afternoon treat.
These trailer parks are a big thing in Austin.
They are a bunch of trailers that serve really yummy food.

Emma had to have a blue snow cone. I am so bummed that I didn't get an after picture of her blue mustache.

After afternoon naps, we headed back to the Fraizer house for a little playtime, dinner and cocktails.

The Fraizer family had a few friends over to join in on the fun.
We were happy to meet Travis and his two kids Sadie and Nolan.

After dinner the ladies had a chance to go out for a little wine and dessert.
I had such a great time with Courtney and Maria.

And here we were this morning on our plane home.

We had such a great trip!
I am so sad that we had to leave and can't wait to go back and visit again.

Thank you to Aaron and Shelly for hanging out.
Thank you to Maria for making the drive over to visit.
And a big thank you to Mark, Courtney, Audrey and Charlotte for being such great hosts and tour guides.
