Bates Nut Farm

Last Friday was our annual trip to Bates for pumpkins.
So much fun with so many loved ones!

Elle's field trip

Elle's preschool took a field trip to the Pinery Pumpkin Patch.
Doug was a lucky duck and was a parent helper.
Thankfully he took lots of pictures.

Surprise... have some pizza!

A few weeks back we had a knock at our door.
It was the Papa John's Pizza delivery guy.
Odd... we didn't order any pizza.

Pizza guy: "is this 1537?"
Doug: "Yes, but we didn't order any pizza"
Pizza guy: "Is there a Ryan... Ryan Prentice here?"
Doug: "That is her cousin, but he lives in Seattle"
Pizza guy: "has he ordered pizza at your house before?"
Doug: "yes, but that was like 6 months ago when he was visiting."
Pizza guy: "well he must have forgotten to change the delivery address when he ordered online. Do you like Canadian bacon?"

Thanks for the pizza Ryan!

Happy Birthday Anyssa!

After the fiesta, we headed out for pizza to celebrate Anyssa's 11th Birthday!
So crazy to think that she is 11... time sure flies!

Church Fall Fiesta

On Saturday October 11th, we went to our Church Fiesta.

Elle's preschool sang and they were adorable!

Elle didn't do much singing, but she did add in her own dance moves/jumps that were so cute.

After the performance, we played games and rode some rides with cousins.

Paddle boarding & Kayaking

Omar has wanted to try out paddle boarding for a few years now.
After talking about it more this summer, we decided that it would be a fun activity to do together.
Last weekend, we went to Carlsbad Lagoon. Liz and I rented kayaks and the guys rented paddle boards.
We stopped a few times to trade off and we all had so much fun!

Taylyr's Homecoming Football game

Last Friday 10/3/14, we went to watch Taylyr cheer at her Homecoming Football game.
The girls had so much fun and even dressed up in blue, gold & white to show their spirit.
 Elle, Chase & Emma

THe highlight of the game, besides the win, was that Taylyr let the girls stand on her cheer box.
This was well past Elle's bed time, but thanks to her bedtime only paci, she was a trooper.

Way to go Taylyr!
Emma has already told me that not only does she want to be a cheerleader, but she also wants to be a Homecoming Princess when she gets older.

Soccer!

Emma started soccer last week and she is having a great time!

She loves that her friend Rachel and Andrew are on her team.

 Go team Fire!
Emma is also so excited that Doug is the co-coach along with Rachel's mom Heather.

Heather was able to get some great pictures during the game and was kind enough to share.

This will be such a fun season of soccer!

Elle is Emma's #1 fan!

Dave and Katie's wedding

September 25-28 in Scottsdale
We went to the wedding of one of Doug's best childhood friends, Dave.

We flew in Thursday afternoon and drove out to have dinner at my Grandparents' house. I am so sad that I didn't get any pictures of our time with GG Bob and GG Margaret.

Thursday night we checked into the hotel and met up with Mark & Courtney for drinks.

Friday we had breakfast and then met up with Val & Kevin.
Then we met up with some more friends for drinks.

We spent all afternoon by the pool with most of the wedding guests.
It was so fun to have so many friends all staying at the same hotel.

We all had dinner at the Tortilla Factory where we enjoyed great company and delicious margaritas.

After dinner we went to Dave & Katie's cocktail hour.

And then back to the hotel bar for...
more drinks of course.

The weather on Saturday started out beautiful, but then shortly before the wedding, a huge storm hit.
Power went out at the hotel and the wedding venue, streets were closed, trees down, and crazy strong winds.
The wedding was moved inside and everything was beautiful!

I love that we were able to spend so much time with Val & Kevin!

After the wedding there was an after party at the hotel bar.
It was so fun to be able to spend so much time with everyone.

Sunday morning, everyone met up for breakfast before we took off for the airport.

We had so much fun!
We missed our girls terribly, but it was so nice to see everyone.

A great big thanks to Papa, Abuelita and Liz for taking such good care of the girls while we were away.
