Happy Birthday Douggie!

Today is my Douggie's birthday!
We had plans to celebrate by going out to dinner, but because Emma wasn't at her best we had takeout at home and invited my folks over.

Such a handsome birthday boy!

After dinner we took a walk to the dog park.
Emma wouldn't let Abuelita put her down.
On a side note, Emma picked out her shoes today. She loves shoes and has become very opinionated on which ones she should wear. Oh boy, this is going to be a fun struggle for us.

Rodney made some great friends.
Don't worry GG Margaret, he looked mean, but he was actually a nice dog.

Then we got home and celebrated with some yummy desserts.

We love you lots Douggie!
Happy Birthday!!!

Under the weather.

So our little Emma has been a tad under the weather for the past few days.
She has been running a fever and a little rash on her face.

Last night she was feeling better, so we decided to take her to get her bangs trimmed.
Well that pissed her off.
Not sure why, because she has never had a problem with it before.

But a sucker made it all better!
And if you look closely, she has a fabulous beard.
She was so slobbery, that her hair clippings stuck to her chin.

Today while she was with Abuelita Rose, her fever got a bit higher.
We took her to the doctor this afternoon.
The doctor said that her throat was a bit red and they tested her for strep throat... yuck!
Lucky for us, she doesn't have it, just a little virus.
Her doc said that she should be on the mend soon... fingers crossed!

30th... from what I can remember!

Douggie threw an amazing birthday BBQ bash for me.

It was a country theme, and Emma sported a perfect little outfit.
I love her boots!

Sarah made my boot cake and cupcakes.
This girl is insane!
She was out of town for a work trip, came home and started baking away for my party.
It was adorable and tasted so yummy!

Notice that she broke the bat!!!

Then after the BBQ, some of us continued on to the 2nd half of the party on the camo party bus.
And that my friends, is where the trouble started!!!

The bus took us to the Stampede in Temecula, where we met up with some more party animals.
And the shots began... so many that I lost count after 7.

Then we got back on the bus and headed home.
Some of us slept it off...

and some of us kept going.
Don't worry I didn't do any real stripper moves on the pole, just kinda danced around.

Thirty about the day/night:
30. We can fit a lot of friends and family in our little house and backyard.
29. My husband is so thoughtful to throw such a great party.
28. Emma looks stinkin' cute in cowboy boots.
27. My mom and sister sister never stopped washing dishes and picking up after everyone. Thank you ladies!
26. My Dad and Uncle Raul make great hamburgers.
25. I have a lot of embarrassing childhood pictures that everyone got to see.
24. I have such thoughtful friends and family!
23. Douggie and Jess make a mean alcoholic punch.
22. The house was FULL of little ones... so darn cute!
21. Feeding 70+ people is so much easier as long as you have good ol' hot dogs and hamburgers.
20. Everyone knows I shop at Nordstrom and drink wine!
19. Douggie was a trooper and dressed up in his country best, miller lite hat, wife beater and all.
18. A bottle of Tequila goes pretty fast when quaffers are involved.
17. No matter how well trained a dog is, when he's gotta go, he's gotta go.
16. You know you feel special when people are on vacation and make it a point to come by your party. Thank you Jacobs family!
15. Victoria is well known for breaking piƱatas and the bats.
14. I have been first aid certified, but it all goes out the window when you need it. :(
13. You know Uncle Ruben is going to be a hoot, when he shoes up in running shorts with a cowboy hat and he is already WASTED!
12. Little Emma is sneaky and can shovel chicklets in her mouth without you ever knowing (see #14). No worries, she is fine, just gave everyone a scare.
11. Why do they make party songs longer than a minute and a half, I am over it and change it after that.
10. I like shots!
9. I don't remember much after all the shots.
8. Don't give Matt Harvey alcohol after midnight!
7. Apparently I spank strange men wearing yellow pants when I drink?!
6. I became one of those girls that I can't stand at bars or weddings. The ones who take their shoes off because they are so uncomfy, or in my case too drunk to walk.
5. I have a bad drunk picture face!
4. I really really like shots, and can't stop once I have started.
3. My parents are the best and watched Emma over night.
2. I am the worst bull rider ever!
1. I am so thankful that I didn't wake up with a hangover that I should have had for how much I drank.

Thank you to Douggie, Bob, Rose, Ebit and Omar!
You all worked your tushes off to throw a great party.

The day after...

Today I turned 30, and yesterday Douggie threw a crazy party.
A fun time was had by all, especially me and my shots!

Looking for leftovers.

I am so tired and want nothing more than to sit on the couch and relax.
So until I catch up from the wild night, I will leave you with this... bull riding, stripper pole dancing, quaffer shots, that all happened plus more and I will make sure to fill you in on the details soon.

Park of the week #4

Tonight we continued our summer of parks by going to Felicita Park here in Esco.
I went there lots as a kid and always had so much fun.

Another great evening at the park.
Next week... it is Douggie's pick!
