Our new friend Nicolas!

Today we celebrated with one of my best friends.
Kristin, her husband Andrea and their 6 year old daughter Juliana have recently welcomed Nicolas into their family.

They have been on an adoption waiting list for years, and their wish finally came true. They are now the proud foster parents of 15 month old Nicolas. They will be going through the adoption process next month, so exciting!!!

Nicolas and his mama Kristin.
So darn cute, and he looks perfect in her arms!!!

Nicolas and Emma are just 1 day apart!
He was born the day before her, and they will be such great friends.

We are so happy for this perfect little family of 4.
They are so kind and loving, they will be perfect for little Nicolas!

Swim class!

After 3 weeks off (1 for Easter break, 1 in Seattle & 1 in AZ) we were back at swim class.

Looking pretty edible in her bikini.

Her favorite part of class is swimming after the watering can. She is obsessed with it.

Looking like a little surfer girl on the kick board.

Getting ready to dunk, 1 2 3...

Dunk!

Not too sure about it.

Still not sure.

And hating it!

But the watering can made it all better!

What a fun class!

Abuelita and Papa came to watch.

Love this!!!

Emma's 15 month Seattle photo shoot!!!

Emma 101copy
On our recent visit to Seattle, we had some more pictures taken with Jocelyn.
Take a look at more of her pictures here.

I can't thank Jocelyn enough!
Not only did she put up with our, at times, fussy Emma, she put up with rain and even hail.

When planning the photos, Douggie said he wanted something "very Seattle." Well we got what he wanted, what is more Seattle than a rainy day, rain boots, and a beautiful park with evergreens.

Jocelyn also took Emma's 7 month pictures this past summer, see them here.
I love Jocelyn's work! Something about her pictures... they get me every time!

Arizona Trip

Thursday evening we took a little trip over to Arizona, to visit my grandparents.
Abuelita and I took Jacob and Emma, and then Friday night Papa Bob and Douggie joined us.

Friday morning the kids got right to work on the weeds.

All that weeding makes you want to take a dip in the hot tub.

Saturday morning we got the toys up and running...
Emma made sure that the quad was ready.

Douggie warmed up the mini 3 wheeler.

Jacob took it for a spin...

but only for about 20 yards.
He decided that it was a bit too fast for him and he had enough.

Riding the tractor with Papa was more his speed.

Abuelita working hard in the yard.

I even took a turn on the tractor.
Man it sure makes clearing the weeds much faster and more fun then those darn hula hoes.

All of that yard work tired poor Jacob out.

We also had a visit from my cousin Stacy.
Apparently we were too busy catching up to take any pictures of her visit, oops.

Someone decided to throw a fit, (see video at the end of the post).

Abuelita took the kids on lots of walks.

We had some wonderful meals with all of the family.

Then it was time to head home this morning.

Here is her little fit caught on video.
Man, she is easily distracted, all it took was a camera case.

My grandpa said that "Great Grandpa Bob" is a lot for a little kid to say, so I have officially shortened their names to GG Bob and GG Margaret.

We had a wonderful time visiting GG Margaret, GG Bob and Aunt Suzie.
GG Margaret, thank you for all of the wonderful meals!
GG Bob, thank you for coming and rescuing me and the tractor when I stalled.

Can't wait to see you guys again soon!

Yakima and Seattle Trip

We just got home from our super fun trip to Yakima and Seattle.
Wednesday
Flew from SD to Seattle, had a 2 hour layover, then off to Yakima.
We were lucky ducks, because Emma slept most of the flights.

Arriving in Yakima.

At our Yakima hotel.

Doug thought that this sign was great, "Pop & Ice."
Who calls it Pop? I guess people in Washington. Luckily Doug has broken himself of this habit.

Then we headed over to visit GG Moreno (Grandma Cherie's Mom).
Emma quickly found and kidnapped her stuffed bears.

The 4 Generations.

This was Emma's 1st time meeting GG Moreno.

We even met one of her neighbors, Chester.
He really loved watching Emma run around, and he even asked if he could sit with us and just watch her. Like many of the residents there, he got a kick out of Emma.

Emma even got a ride with GG Moreno.

Then we headed off to dinner with some more family.
Great Aunt Evelyn wasn't able to make it for dinner, but at least we got to stop by her work and say hi.

Aunt Debbie, Ladonna, Emma & Grandpa Bob at dinner.

Grandma Cherie, Great Aunt Peggy & Great Uncle Tony.

After dinner we headed back to the hotel. Emma got all ready for bed and then stayed with Grandpa Bob while mama and dada went to this place.

Then Aunt Evelyn and Cherie met up with us for a glass of wine.

Thursday
We woke up, had breakfast and then headed back over to visit with GG Moreno again.

Then we drove back to Seattle from Yakima.
The drive wasn't too bad... there was some snow on the pass and Emma got car sick and puked all over herself. But other than that it was smooth sailing.

We got to Grandma and Grandpa's house and Emma was feeling much better.

Someone got a few gifts. :)

Then we had some family over for dinner.
Great Aunt Linda made it.

So did cousin Aaron, cousin Michelle and her husband Clint.

Someone had crazy hair after we took her piggies out.

Friday

We had ourselves a little photo shoot... more to come on that one!!!

Then we headed over to meet new little baby Breanna.
Here is the proud daddy and his beautiful little girl.
Jasen (Doug's cousin) and his wife Gabby had Breanna in February.

Aww... they are pretty darn adorable!

Then we headed over to my cousin Val's house and had dinner with Val, Kevin, Lauren, Benny, Ryan & Hadley. Later Aunt Cindy and Megan joined in on the fun.
After dinner all of the kiddos hopped in the tub together.
They are so darn cute!

Saturday
We headed down town.
Got some warm drinks from the very first Starbucks.
It was a nice treat, because it was pretty cold and windy.
Then we headed to Pike Place Market.

Back to Val and Kevin's neighborhood to play at the park.

Then back to the house for some dinner.
We were even lucky enough to have Morgan (Doug and Val's friend from High School) come by with his adorable daughters.

And Emma got her very 1st Barbie from Lauren and Benny.

Sunday
The gang came back over and we had a wonderful breakfast.
Uncle Mike came straight over from the airport.
He was out of town all weekend, but we were lucky enough to get to visit with him for a couple hours.

Then we were off back to San Diego.
Emma was drinking Benny's favorite "Choc Choc" (choc. milk), well guess what Benny? Emma LOVES it now too!

We had such a great time getting to see all of dada and mama's family.
Thank you to everyone who was able to hang out with us.
A special thank you to Grandpa Bob & Grandma Cherie and the Kok family for letting us stay the night at your places.
