"Can I be your big help?"

Douggie decided to hang my mom and dad's Christmas lights for them today. Once Jacob woke up from his nap he asked uncle Douggie, "can I be your big help?" Of course Doug took him up on it, look how cute these two are!!!

Jacob was becoming more and more brave as the lights went up. He kept asking if someone would put him up everywhere. Here he is on the fence, don't worry Ebit, Grandpa was right behind him.

34 1/2 Weeks!!!

We had our 34 week appointment today and everything is going well.
We are getting so close I can hardly wait! And yes I have hit the "I am ready for this to be over point." Not because I don't enjoy being pregnant, but I have hit the uncomfy hard to sleep phase.
Dr. Langford gave us a little 3D printout for a present. Isn't she adorable?! If you can't tell, that is her arm smashing in her little chin and the placenta is covering the left side of her face. I am kind of excited, because she has my nose! It is the same nose as my mom, my grandma and even my great grandma. Yes she is a little smashed because she has already dropped. But trust me her arms, legs and butt have plenty of room to move, because they all move often. She is pretty darn cute!!!

Buckethead!!!

I know that after Marie's description of our great weekend in Anaheim, everyone was eager to see clips from the Buckethead show.  I hope these short videos that I took won't disappoint you.

This song is one of my all time favorite songs of his, "Welcome to Bucketheadland," and you can really see his distinct playing style.  This was the last song of his 2 hour set which had me grinning from ear to ear the entire time.

This song is titled, "Soothsayer," and I've been trying to learn how to play it for some time now.  I've got the basics but there is no way that I'm going to play the solos like he does.  Unfortuantely the security guard told me to stop filming before the song was finished.

I know that this kind of music is not everyone's style but if you ever get the chance to see this guy in concert, I highly recommend it.  If you prefer a slower style, I recommend two of his albums, "Electric Tears" and "Colma."

Our Babymoon!

This weekend we decided to take ourselves on our very own babymoon. For those of you less "trendy" folks that don't know what a babymooon is, it is a last trip or getaway before the baby is born. We really aren't trendy and it wasn't a real babymoon, but Doug did have a concert to go to at H.O.B. in Downtown Disney, so I joined him and we made a weekend of it. Don't worry I didn't expose Emma to her 1st Buckethead concert, Doug went solo, even though he assures me that Emma would have loved it!
We had a great relaxing weekend...
-Started out on Saturday morning with a trip to Irvine Spectrum for a little shopping.
-Then on to Disneyland Hotel to check-in.
-Lunch at the Rainforest Cafe... yummy!
- A little more shopping in Downtown Disney.
- Then the sweetest wife in the world realized that Doug had been checking his cell all day for the Apple cup (WSU vs. Huskies) scores. It hit me, ESPN Zone is right here, and so we watched the rest of the game. Yay Cougars!
- Then we changed for dinner and ate at the House of Blues, where we were joined by Andy, Doug's brother.
-Then Doug went to the concert and I went back to the room and rested and napped.
-We had a great breakfast before leaving and then made a stop at Babies R Us on the way home.
Here is Doug at the Rainforest Cafe.
Doug at ESPN Zone.

Us in front of the Downtown Disney Tree.

The view from our room of the "Neverland" pool. I was bummed I didn't bring my suit, because the water slide looked fun. I guess it was good for the others that I didn't swim, because who wants to see and 8 1/2 month pregnant woman in a swimsuit?!

Downtown Disney was all decorated and looked so pretty.

Thank you for a great weekend Douggie!

Jillian is here!!!

Jillian Lewko
Born 11/17/08 at 11:40 am
6lbs 10 oz and 19 1/2 inches long
This picture makes her look chubby, kind of funny, because she is tiny.
The 1st of the Preggo Pals, Kristyn had her baby yesterday!  Heather and I headed down to see her this afternoon.  She is absolutely perfect!
The Lewko Family
Jason and Kristyn are going to be amazing parents, I can already tell.  They are so happy to have their little "Jillybean" here.
The Preggo Pals!
Both mom and baby are doing well.
Now that Jillian is here, that means I am next!  I can't wait!

The things 3 year olds say...

So this past Sunday at church Jacob had me cracking up! I couldn't control my laughing, which is so inappropriate at church. Good thing we are still sitting in the crying room with the other kids!
Jacob was walking past me and looked up, I wish everyone could have seen the look on his face! He looked at me like he wanted to tell me, ease up on the sweets Tia Ree, your belly is huge!
He did later ask me very concerned "where's baby Emma?" I explained, as we all have, that she is in my belly. He then tried to reach down my shirt and said, "get her out!" Then I said, "she is not ready to come out, she still has to stay in my belly." He thought about that for a few seconds and then replied, "Tia Ree, did you eat her?" I couldn't control myself and laughed like crazy. Apparently he didn't like that I never answered his question, because he asked again, "Tia Ree, did you eat her?" Goodness, this kid keeps me entertained!

Bob's big helpers!

After church today Jacob decided he wanted to go outside and play. His idea of playing was raking leaves, doesn't sound like much fun to me. Douggie went outside to help him and give him some tips. Great job guys, Grandpa Bob will be very happy you helped in the yard!

Shower #4!!!

Yesterday afternoon I had my 4th and final shower!
It was held at Stepheni's house and was hosted by Stepheni, Rhonda, Sharyn & Ashley.
Thank you for a beautiful shower ladies!

Hooray, all of our showers are finished!
Doug and I are both so thankful for all of our friends and family.
Everyone was so generous, and kind to make time for us, thank you all so much!
A special thank you to my mom and sister, they were such troopers and went to all of my showers with me!

32 Weeks!!!

So I am actually 33 weeks now, but close enough!
On Thursday we had our 32 week appointment and everything is looking good.
Dr. Langford told us that she has already dropped, which made us think maybe she will be back to her original December 28th due date.  But then he told us that she is still measuring small, so it looks like she could still make her appearance in January.  Who knows?!Add Image

First Desert Trip of the Season

On Friday we took our first trip of the season to Ocotillo Wells.  We had a great time with our friends and family and luckily the 40mph wind gusts didn't arrive until late Saturday night.
Marie even took Emma out for her first ride.  Don't worry, I don't even think she made it out of first gear.  I guess it too difficult to shift in flip flops.
Stepheni was brave enough to follow me on a short ride too.

Joining in the Fun

We were glad to have the Covarrubias' out for the day...

...and Jacob even went for a ride with his dad.  You can tell by the smile on his face that he truly enjoyed it.

Shower #3!!!

On Wednesday evening last week, my City Hall co-workers threw me shower #3! It was held at On the Boarder and we all had a great time!

A few co- workers enjoying chips and salsa.

Opening gifts, with my helper Maranda.
Thank you all for coming, and a special thanks to Danielle, Laurie and Susan for hosting!

Shower #2

This past Sunday afternoon I had my 2nd baby shower!

My hostesses, Brigitte, Wendy and Bri, they did an amazing job with the shower, it was beautiful!

So many cute gifts, thank you everyone, you are way too generous!!!
The entire shower photo.  This shower was for our desert family and all of my part timers at the sports center.  It was a fun group of gals!
Bri, Brigitte and Wendy even made the cake, it turned out beautifully!
Douggie joined us at the end to help cut the cake, and of course get a chance to eat some of the yummy food.
2 down 2 to go!  I have such amazing friends and family to host all of these showers for us.

All Hallows' Eve

For Halloween this year, we went as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with our friends Bri and Noel.  Marie made was a excellent Donatello but I couldn't get her to call her weapon a "bo staff."  She kept calling it her stick.  A special thank you to Bri's mom for making us the best costumes of the party.

We didn't get a chance to go trick or treating with Jacob but we stopped by to wish him luck.  He said he was going to save me all of his peanut butter cups but I haven't seen them yet.

30 Weeks!

Yesterday we had our 30 week appointment with Dr. Langford. This was our 1st appointment where we started going every other week. That means we are getting closer! He said that all is going well.

So my belly is definitely big, but look, I can still see my feet!!!
