This little piggy smiled pretty, and this little piggy melted mama's heart!

As a little girl, I often had dreams about being a mom one day. All of those dreams consisted of me having a little girl, and that little girl would have the cutest pigtails that you have ever seen.

Well I am not dreaming, I have a little girl, and now that little girl has the cutest pigtails that I have ever seen.

Absolutely stinking perfect!

A little close up to show you just how precious she is.

This is only the beginning my friends, I can't wait until her hair gets a little longer. But for now, I will be loving every second of these mini piggies!

Just dance, gonna be okay, da da doo doo mmm

This little girl loves to dance.

Here are a few clips from our dance party this morning.
We are thrilled that her favorite song is "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga.
Dada just shakes his head, I on the other hand think that she is just getting a little culture.

She does have a softer side as well...

We are a long way from SYTYCD, but I think she is pretty darn cute!

Yes, I do realize that in the title of this post I quoted "Just Dance," and not "Bad Romance" but hey it is still by Lady Gaga.

Happy Birthday Cris and Alex!

Last night we headed over to Richard and Connie's home to celebrate the 33rd Birthday of my cousins Cris and Alex.

Yep, they are twins. I would love to be a twin, but wait that would mean I would have to share my birthday, and I love having my birthday all to myself.

Warning... please take no offence to the following picture. It is all in good fun!
Don't you love Emma's shirt?! - Half Beaner
According to Doug's calculations of me being half Mexican and there being Mexican blood in his family, she is actually 33% Mexican. Darn those people at the street fair, they didn't have a 33% Mexican shirt, so the "Half Beaner" will have to do.

We don't plan on her wearing this shirt out in public, but it is totally appropriate for family gatherings, at least on my mom's side. :)

Emma tried to give Anyssa and her Uncle Mike some pointers on her homework.

Happy Birthday to you...

The Birthday Twins!

Mmmm, yummy ice cream!

Happy Birthday Cris and Alex, we love you lots!

Emma's 12 month check-up

Tuesday Emma had her 12 month check up.
Unfortunately Dr.McCormick was booked up for weeks and weeks, so we saw Dr. Herring.
She was no Dr. McCormick, but we still thought she was good.

Here are her stats:
Weight - 20 lbs 3 oz. - 25%
Head - 18 in - 50%
and wait for it...

Height - 30 3/4 in - 90%

Say what?!
This is the 1st time in I don't know how many check ups that she is not in the OVER 97% percentile! Don't let my sarcasm fool you, I am so happy that her growing length wise has slowed down. I don't mind a tall kid, but I don't want her to be totally taller than 97 other kids her age. Being taller than 90 other kids her age is bad enough.

Drinking some juice at the doc's office.
We kinda got scolded for giving her juice.
Doc said, "just make sure she drinks water most of the time, otherwise she will think that everything has to be sweet."
Well doc, if it is going to keep her quiet for a doctor's appt. during nap time, then by golly, she will drink the sweet stuff!

Got your tix to the gunz show?

Pretty irresistible!

So yes, Emma's weight did drop a tad from her 9 month check up. She was at 50th percentile then and down to 25th percentile now. She didn't seem worried, and in fact said that it was normal because Emma was "so active." True dat! This kid is on the go constantly.
I think the doc just took one look at Douggie and me and then realized, "well she must get her height and slender build from her dad, because she sure doesn't get it from her mom."
Sigh... poor Marie!

Little Emma had 4 shots that day... ouch!!!
She glared at the poor nurse and screamed and cried.
Guess what calmed her down...
that would be her pretty shoes!
All we had to say was, "Look Emma, ooooh, let's put your shoes on."

Well, she may not get her body structure from me, but at least she gets her love of shoes from me!

Over all the doc said she was pretty much perfect, well we could have told you that. :)

Just like Jacob!

I don't think I can express just how much Emma LOVES her big cousin Jacob!
Every morning when she shows up at Abuelita's house, of course she smiles at Abuelita and Papa, but Jacob is a whole 'nother story!!!

She loves to follow him around and do everything that he does.
Basically do anything just to be near him.

And poor Jacob, bless his heart, he is a good sport and puts up with his little tag along cousin.
I know that he may not realize it now, but they will be best buds. :)

So when it came to decide what to get Emma for her birthday we thought long and hard.
Then it hit us, a Cozy Coupe, just like Jacob!

Here they are with their wheels.
Couldn't be happier!

I love watching these 2 together, and they are pretty darn cute in their own cozy coupes.

Gotta love pictures of sweet little Emma!

So I took my sweet time posting the rest of Emma's 1 year pictures. I guess I wanted to keep you all on the edge of your seats waiting for them.

You see we got really lucky when I was blog stalking a few months back. I came across this amazingly creative photographer. I looked at her work and it instantly blew me away. I looked a little more and realized that it was totally acceptable that I was stalking her blog, because I graduated high school with her. We go way back, even attended Jr. High together.
So I emailed her and here we are.

It was so nice to see Anjuli again. We had mutual friends in school and she was probably the nicest person ever at our school. So she is married and has 2 adorable boys, but one thing remains the same, still one of the nicest people ever!

We headed up to the ranch, where Emma's birthday party was, to take these beauties... enjoy!

Couldn't be happier! She loves when dada throws her up so high.

She is becoming so independent.

Looking at the piggy, the peacocks and chickens.

Such a curious little girl.

LOVE this one!!!

So the next 2 are not very flattering of me at all, but they are hilarious, so I thought I would be a good sport.

The horses were seriously nibbling at me.
I dare not post the one with Emma's little arm in this darn white horse's mouth. If I did, someone might call CPS on me. No worries, her arm is in tact and the horse doesn't really bite, just likes to nibble gently.

I love her serious little face.

Hello Handsome!

Sorry that I posted so many, but I am in LOVE with them all!

A LOT of Winter One-derland

So as promised, here is a full post of Emma's Party.

The kiddo is sick today, so I was able to sneak in a few minutes to post while she is napping.
We went to the Doctor this morning.
No biggie, her sinus infection didn't clear all the way up from her last antibiotics, so she is back on them.

So here is a re-cap of the party...

The Birthday girl with Tío Omar, Cousin Jacob & Tía Lizzy

All of the food and eating was outside, and the One-derland play area was inside the barn.

My dad made my Grandpa's yummy Manhattan Clam Chowder, and it was a hit!

Joy and the Lewko family

Brigitte and Kaylen
Kaylen's actual Birthday was that day, it was so nice of her to share her special day with Emma!

Eating some lunch with Tía Lizzy.

Sarah made Emma her very own cake, so cute!
Thanks Sarah!!!

Sharing with Rachel.

Had to get a wipe bath after the messy cake.

Present time...

The party was a huge success!
We had a great time and couldn't have asked for better weather.
It wasn't winter like weather, but it was beautiful!!!

Thank you to everyone who was able to share Emma's special day with her.
And for those of you that weren't able to be there, maybe looking at this insane amount of pictures helped make you feel like you were there.
