Saturday in DC

Saturday morning we slept in and took our time getting ready.
We had some breakfast and then headed over to catch the Tourmobile.

A self portrait of us on the Tourmobile.

We had a fun time and got to show Abuelita lots of beautiful sights.

The Lincoln Memorial

A view of the Washington Monument from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
Not sure why the Reflecting Pool was empty? And kinda sad that it was. Douggie says that maybe they empty it in the cold winter, sounds like a good guess to me.

Emma was cracking me up! She kept putting her finger on her nose, because she saw good old Abe's nose.

We hopped back on the Tourmobile and headed over to Arlington, man is that place beautiful!!!

We had to wait around for a separate bus to give us the Arlington tour. While waiting in line as we were instructed, a woman who worked there came over and scolded me. She couldn't believe that Emma didn't have a blanket on. Well lady, she did have a long sleeve shirt, a thick hoodie and her Inspector Gadget jacket. I'd say she was fine. If only I had the courage to tell the pushy lady what I really thought. But I am not in to confrontations, and man based on her pushiness it would have been a doozy!!!

The Eternal Flame between JFK and Jackie

The view from the Eternal Flame.
Even though it was a cloudy and rainy day, it was still so pretty.

Walking down from the Eternal Flame.
Emma kept playing with the umbrella, such a cute little trouble maker.

Even though it is not official Cherry Blossom season, we were able to catch a few glimpses of them.

It was pouring rain while we passed most of the rest of the stops. Since Emma was sleeping, we decided to look from afar and stay dry inside the Tourmobile.

We got off at our last stop, The Natural History Museum and met up with our DC friends
Since it was raining out the Museum was packed. We didn't stay that long, but we walked back to our hotel to visit and let Emma run around.

Sweet Little Nina :)

Nina and Emma
Emma was so sweet and kept wanting to snuggle with her. Between saying "Gentle" over and over, I was able to snap a few cute pictures.

Emma even played with Nina's ear, she was so funny.
For those of you that don't know, Emma has a HUGE ear fetish. Not just rubbing her own, but Dada's, Mama's, Corona's and anyone else.

Emma couldn't keep her eyes off Nina, she thought she was pretty great. Well kiddo, so do I! Nina was such a sweet and well behaved baby.

She got all bundled up and I walked them to the Metro station.

In the evening we walked over to the White House. It was just 2 short blocks away!
Maybe not the best picture, but it is so beautiful at night.

Emma and Abuelita in front of the White House Fence.

We ate dinner at this place

There was a wait, so we did the unthinkable and ate in the cocktail area of the bar.
And I even asked for a high chair... gasp!
I know that our poor waitress was mortified to see a baby in the bar.
Emma was on her best behavior, and when she did let out a little cry, I politely reminded her that we were in the bar, and there is no crying in the bar.

We walked back to our hotel and ordered some creme brule to share, and had sweet dreams until Emma decided it was time to play at 11 pm.
