Emma's 1st trip to Ocotillo...

...and a fabulous one at that!

We just got back from a weekend at the desert.  Some of you may think that we are crazy taking a 2 month old to the desert.  We figure that since we love going to the desert that it is best to get Emma used to it early and hopefully she will continue to enjoy it.  We couldn't have asked for her to be any more well behaved!  She did so well, and now we can't wait for our next trip with her.

We were also lucky to have Papa Bob, Grandma Rose and Jacob join us and the rest of our "desert family."

Little Emma all bundled up with daddy.  She was so happy to be in the brisk Ocotillo air.

I couldn't wait to get her in the baby bjorn and go for a ride.  No worries, we only rode around the trailers, and very slowly.  I think that since I rode (gently) like this when I was pregnant, this ride brought back fond memories for Emma.  She really liked the quad.  She was so cute, when we started to go she would lay her head on my chest and start to close her eyes,  she felt right at home.

Of course Douggie had to take his little "desert rat" for a ride.  They both loved their ride together!

Proud Daddy holding little Emma in her riding gear!  Emma is wearing Thor, which is the only kind of gear Douggie rides in.  Except his gear isn't pink.

Gotta love those riding gear jammies.

Jacob even decided to share his hat with Emma.  Looks a little big, but it was sweet of him to think of her.

So we decided that having Emma at the desert wasn't too much of a change from when we used to go.  Of course now I go to bed earlier with her, instead of staying up late and taking beer bongs.  But of course I wouldn't change a thing!

Thanks to all of our desert family, we had a great weekend and we couldn't have shared Emma's memorable 1st trip with a better group!

What a beautiful "desert rat". I tried to tell Doug she looked more like a desert fox but he explained the term to me!!

I am sure the fresh air felt good to her - as much as it does to the rest of the desert family. She will remember her trips with affection - when she is old enough for her own quad!!
