Sunday is a fun day in DC!

Sunday morning we were up n at em early.

My mom had one request left, she wanted to ride the Metro, just for the experience.

So we did just that. We took a short little Metro trip to Georgetown.
We took a little walk around a cute neighborhood in G-town.
Overall I think my mom enjoyed the Metro experience. I did give her one very important piece of advice... DON"T TOUCH ANYTHING!!!
She looked at me as if I were crazy, but then once we stepped foot onto the train she saw McDonald's trash, stained carpets and such and then she realized what I was talking about. Those Metros are pretty darn convenient, but pretty darn yucky.

Then we had a little play time at this museum
The American History Museum.
Some of our favorites included the First Ladies Inaugural Ball Gowns, Dorothy's Ruby Red Slippers and Fonzie's Jacket.

Then we took a stroll back to our hotel and saw some beautiful Washington sights again.

Walked past some impressive buildings, including the Ronald Reagan Building.

We had an adventure trying to get out of the hotel and to the airport. There was a St. Patrick's Day Parade near our hotel, so we were totally detoured. A few not so nice words and 20 minutes later, we were on our way to the airport.

We had a wonderful 1st half of the 1st flight from Dulles to SF. Emma slept on my lap and was an angel. Then with about 25 minutes left on the flight, the kid lost it, so did Abuelita Rose and Mama at that point. Thanks to a nice lady sitting across from us playing peek a boo with her, we made it. We had a layover for an hour or so and we were off to SD.
We didn't do much better on that flight. Emma wanted nothing to do with Mama and finally fell asleep in Abuelita's arms.

We made it! Papa and Douggie were kind enough to pick us up at the airport, and man was it good to have some help. We had a lot of stuff to lug around.

Emma and I had a fabulous time and we were so lucky to have Abuelita Rose there to join us. Thank you for being such a big help!
