Our little TV star!

Emma has been working with a modeling and talent agency for about 6 months.
She has gone on numerous auditions for print work and commercials.
It requires lots of driving to LA and lots of time. We all agree that once school started Emma would take a little break from auditions.
Emma had one last audition the Friday before school started.
Wouldn't you know it, she got a call back the first week of school and then was offered the part!!!
She was cast in a commercial for Sanderson Farms!
Her role was "daughter in the car."

On Thursday, September 4th we drove up to Hollywood for her wardrobe fitting.
Emma was great and very patient with all of the waiting around and trying on tons of clothes.
We decided to stay the night at a hotel and we had lots of fun as a family.
We went to Universal City Walk and then swimming.

Friday, September 5th, we showed up on set for her first day on set at a home in Pacific Palisades.

The commercial is for Thanksgiving and the whole family is getting together at Grandma & Grandpa's home.
All together there were 14 actors as Emma's pretend extended family.
Here is Emma filming her first scene with one of her pretend older brothers.
They were running down the stairs and I was hiding up stairs to stay out of the way.
Poor kids did at least 15 takes and they were dressed in lots of layers.
After one of the last takes Emma said to the director "are we almost done? I am getting sweaty!"
Good thing he loved her and thought that what she said was cute.

A view from the monitor.
It was pretty darn amazing to watch her in action.

They filmed one scene outside with lots of fake fall leaves, kids jumping in piles of the leaves and the men throwing around a football.

They also filmed Emma's pretend family getting out of the car.

She had a day off on Saturday and then we headed up to a farm in Thousand Oaks for filming on Sunday, September 7th.
Emma, bright and early and ready for an exciting day!
Doug stayed with Emma on set this time and I went exploring with Elle.

This day, they were filming Emma's family leaving their house and driving to Grandma and Grandpa's home.
They spent hours in the car.
They didn't really drive the car, it was on a trailer and they were all inside.
Emma was supposed to pretend to fall asleep and she pretended for so long that she actually did fall asleep.

Emma with her one of her pretend brothers, Jude.

Emma with the Director Kenny.
Kenny loved Emma and always made her laugh.

She had no idea what to expect and just went with the flow.
Lots of the actors said that Emma did such a great job, especially for her very first commercial.
She really was pretty darn amazing!!!
There were a couple of times that I was watching behind all of the producers on the monitor and I over heard them gushing over Emma. "She is so cute!"  "Look at those eyes!"  "She is great!"
It took everything in me to hold back my tears. She made me so proud, but there was no way I was going to become a crazy mom crying on set.
Emma made us so proud!

We will hopefully be getting a copy of the commercial soon. Once we do, we will make sure to share it.

On Thursday of this week, Emma got her paychecks for the commercial in the mail!
We were so excited for her, so we all went out to Sushi to celebrate... Emma's treat!
I am kidding!!! Emma's first paychecks are safely in her college savings account.
