JuJu's Birthday Party!

JuJu is 5 and we had a great time celebrating at his Spiderman birthday party.

It was a fun get together with lots of family.
Just not sure why it has to be the hottest day of the year on his birthday every year?!?!

Omar sported his Spiderman shirt for the occasion and was a great piƱata holder.

Caitlyn was the lucky one to break it.

Emma was happy with just one sucker.
Don't worry, I watched her the entire time she had it.

Ebit made the cupcakes, and Omar and I decorated them.

And JuJu got a big boy bike!

Park of the week #10

Since summer is coming to an end, this will be our last park of the week.
We took the advice given to us from the lady at last week's park, and headed over to Mulberry Park in San Marcos.

JuJu stayed the night with us so that his folks could get some stuff ready for his birthday party, so of course we brought him along.

It is a cute little park, and it was so quiet.

They have a fun play ground...

a big open field below...

and a "spray ground!"

JuJu and Emma had so much fun together!

I love that this "spray ground" is Emma sized.
There are just 3 sprayers and they are all low and not over powering... perfect for Emma.

She loved drinking the water.
We tried to stop her over and over, but there was no use, she did it anyway.

JuJu that is what you call a lavado (enema for those of you that didn't grow up with my Grandma B).

Goofy kiddo!

We headed over to the play ground for a bit, but Emma kept saying "hot."
It was a warm day, so staying in the water felt much better.

Then Emma decided it was time for her nap, so we headed home.

This was such a fun park.
We were so glad the JuJu was able to join us.

I can't wait until next summer when we get to start our Park of the Week all over again.
We had such a great time playing at so many new parks.

Dinner with Family

This evening we headed over to my parent's house for dinner hosted by Uncle Mike and Aunt Cindy.
Ron and Pam are still in town, so they came by, and we were even lucky enough to have Grandpa Fred join us.

Emma took a little pre-dinner nap.
All of that running with JuJu wore her out.

Thanks for a great dinner.
I love that we have been able to spend so much time with all of our out-of-towners.

Boy do we miss him!

This morning the GG's drove home to AZ and they took Rodney (Bobby) with them.
My heart nearly broke when the GG's drove off and poor little Emma was yelling "Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby!"
I think she thought that they were taking her dog away.
It almost made me want to go out and find a little cocker spaniel just for her.

We are going to miss you Bobby!
We had a super fun summer playing with you.

Happy 60th Abuelita Rose

This evening we had a little dinner party for Abuelita Rose.
Even though we celebrated her birthday last weekend at the river, we had to celebrate today, because it is her actual birthday.

U. Mike, A. Cindy, GG Bob and GG Margaret drove in from Seattle today, so the timing was perfect. Ron and Pam were able to make it over as well, since they were in town from Vegas.

I had some serious fun working on the tables/flowers.
I have been working on it in my head, so it was fun to see it come together.

The adults had filet mignon, but the kids had chicken nuggets.
Emma and JuJu sure do love their chicken nuggets!

It was a perfect evening for a little outdoor dinner party.

Someone suckered Uncle Mike into playing "Uh uh oh."
I swear... this kid can't get enough of this video.

Papa Bob had to work, but he joined us just in time for cupcakes and ice cream.

Happy Birthday Abuelita, we love you lots!

Park of the week #9

I searched some websites for a fun park that had a "sprayground."
We decided on San Elijo Hills Park.
It was a busy park with lots of sports going on...
but we had the entire play ground to ourselves!

Wee... all smiles!

That is until she fell off the bottom of the slide into the sand, then all we heard was "uh oh!"
She isn't a fan of sand in her shoes.

So strong, Dada wasn't even holding on to her!

Then we were off to the sprayground.
"Where's the water Mama?"

Ooops, there it is!

They also have a huge beach like sandbox.
It comes stocked with sand toys for all of the kiddos.

Back to the water!

We had such a great time there!
We even struck up a conversation with the ONLY other family there.
The mom gave us a good idea for next week's park.
