Country Fest North!!!

Last night Abuelita Rose was kind enough to watch little Emma for us, while we went to Countryfest North. It is a $5 concert that a local country station put on, and we had a great time. Bombshell, James Otto and Joe Nichols were playing.

We were joined by Karen, Kevin, Noel and Bri, kinda fun because we all played soccer together in the morning.

Now comes the funny part...

10 things that you can only see at a $5 country concert, in no particular order.

Since I was DD, I had a little extra time on my hands while everyone else was in the beer line.

1. Sandals where your pinky toes are too short for the strap, just plain funny and uncomfy looking.

Then of course we all thought it was funny, so we tried it out ourselves.

2. A man with an incredibly long beard.

3. A great mullet.

(with a Tommy Bahama shirt, makes it even better.)

4. Taking your dirty shoes off, because in fact the cement is actually cleaner than your grungy old shoes.

5. Smoking a joint in public, and standing up so that everyone can see you.

6. Wearing no shirt and sunglasses when it is already dark

.

7. A grown man on top of another grown man's shoulders for a piggy back ride... weird!

8. Nothing like a little grinding with your wife. This picture doesn't do it justice, sorry.

9. Drinking the left over beer from all of your old cups. Oh Noel, gross!

10. A man in overalls and to top it off a camo hat.

Wow this place was a people watcher's dream! We had ourselves a fabulous time, and we even bought tickets for the next $5 concert in October, where Lady Antebellum is playing.

Then we had a little singing at the top of our lungs session on the way home to 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.' Yes I was DD, but who can resist a little GJWHF?!

A lunch with the ladies.

Yesterday afternoon Emma and I joined the Lewko ladies and the Hodgson ladies for a little lunch.

We were formally known as the preggo pals, so it has been fun to see our little ladies grow up.

Emma felt like such a big girl in a high chair next to Jillian. As you can tell, she was very interested in her.

Poor Rachel slept through some of lunch.

But no worries, she woke up and joined us.

Miss messy eater Jillian. I thought it was adorable how she helps stuff the food in her mouth with her hands. I don't really think that Kristyn thinks that it was very cute though.

We had to do a height comparison of Emma and Jillian.

From the looks of the picture, Emma has got a little on Jillian, so funny, because Emma is 6 weeks younger. We have got a giant on our hands!

Saturday soccer and more soccer.

Yesterday morning was full of soccer.

We went to watch part of Jacob's game.

Jacob started out the game by playing goalie.

He had quite the cheering section, here are Grandma Rose, Aunt Pam, Emma, Aunt Cindy, Ebit, and Douggie Omar and I were there as well.

Then 20 minutes after Jacob's game started we had ourselves a coed game.

And good news we won!

Friday night fun!

We are lucky enough to have our out of towners Aunt Cindy and Aunt Pam back in town.

I swear we are getting spoiled by seeing them so much.

In reality they are here to see their dad 'Grandpa Fred' but we are lucky enough to get some time with them as well. :)

We went over for some pizza and wine at the folks house tonight.

Something about this picture... maybe it is Papa Bob's super green grass, or maybe it is how un-comfy Emma looks on the super green grass. She is not a huge fan, but I have no doubt that she will be loving it as she gets older and can really play on it.

This picture doesn't do it justice, but Papa Bob has one of the finest looking yards around, it is kind of a kids dream to play on it.

27 Weeks... woohoo!

27 weeks has flown by!

Emma was enjoying a little dinner.

Mama made some sweet potatoes. She wasn't too sure about the home made food.

Turns out they were still a bit too lumpy and she didn't like the texture. But she was a good sport and gave them a go.

Last night we took a little walk around KC Park. We decided to walk through the sculpture garden, it was Douggie and Emma's 1st time seeing it. It is really beautiful, and you kinda feel as if you are in some sort of cartooney (is that even a word?) fairly tale.

Well she was actually 26 weeks and 6 days when the picture was taken, but you get the idea.

A nice evening for a walk

We were getting all set for a nice walk this evening, and we had a little stow away, (notice Corona in the basket under the stroller). She tried to be sneaky and hop in while we were putting our shoes on.

Emma was all tired out from looking at everything.

It was so nice out, we even sat outside and enjoyed a cold glass of wine.

These days Emma loves to play with anything that is not a toy.

She loves paper, tissue paper and boxes.

A Fabulous Friday!

Today Tía Lizzy and Jacob watched our little E while I was at work.

They hung out around their house and ran a few errands, and then off to Chuck E Cheese.

After I got off of work I met them there.

Jacob had a ball and wanted to play every game.

This was little Emma's 1st trip to Chuck E Cheese, and probably the cheapest I will ever see. Ebit bought lunch and Emma doesn't play games, so not a token was spent by us.

Thanks for lunch Ebit and thank you so much for taking care of our little E for the day!

Then we met up with the folks and headed out to dinner and to Cruisin' Grand.

Guess who is 6 months?!

Today is little miss Emma's 6 month birthday!

Crazy to think that our string bean is half a year old.

She is developing more and more of a personality and she is so much fun to play with.

Big news around our house, she takes a bath in the big girl tub! She doesn't sit up on her own yet, so we bought this special reclining bath chair. As you can tell she loved it.

4th of July weekend at the river!!!

We took a little trip this weekend to the river (Colorado river), lake Martinez to be exact.

We were very lucky to be invited to stay at one of Laurie and Rick's 3 houses. Yep, that's right, they have 3 houses all right on the water... CRAZY! Laurie and Rick are our good friend Bri's aunt and uncle.

We had a fabulous time!!!

We were sure spoiled at this house. The past 3 summers we thought we had it nice because we stayed at a river RV park that had grass. No amount of grass can compare to staying in this house at the river!

We drove over Thursday afternoon and got there just in time for dinner and a few drinks.

Not the 1st time he has enjoyed a beer while putting Emma to sleep, he is becoming a pro.

Friday Douggie got up at 6 am to go wake boarding, and he got up the 1st try!

He did it for the 1st time last summer, and obviously he is becoming quite good at it.

Sorry I don't have any pictures, but Emma and I decided to sleep in, instead of going on the boat.

Emma LOVED her little crab floaty. The water was warm, so I think she thought she was in a huge bath tub, and the girl loves her baths.

here we were on the deck, enjoying a few cold beverages.

And our little Emma is such a trooper, she fell asleep and hung out with us.

It's probably a good thing she was asleep, because some of the wild people in the group decided to go for a little night swim, sans their swim suits. The best part was, they ran down the dock and Laurie made a comment to us all non skinny dippers on the patio, 'those idiots, they forgot towels!' They felt pretty silly and had to wait in the water until Brigitte was nice enough to take towels down to them. Crazy girls!!!

We had a great weekend and can't thank everyone enough for all of their hospitality.

3 years!!!

Today is our 3 year wedding Anniversary!

What a special day, our anniversary and Emma's 25 week b-day.

Douggie, I love you so much and I have always known what a lucky girl I was to have found you.

I guess I shouldn't say 'found' you, because it was more like 'stalked' you.

Normally I wouldn't want people to know that I was a stalker, but in this case I couldn't be more proud. :) If it led me to you, then it was worth it.

I can't imagine my life without you, because you have made it so much better! You have brought me so much joy and love and I can even call you my best friend.

Thank you for being an amazing father and the world's best husband!

25 Weeks

Wow, 25 weeks, that just seems crazy!
