51 weeks

Emma really loves bath time, and I mean really really loves it!
Dada gives Emma her baths every night, and I think he loves bath time just as much as Emma. They are so cute together.
I took a few snaps from tonight and I just had to share them.

If you look closely, you can see her 5th tooth coming in on the bottom.

This time next week we will be on the Eve of Emma's 1st year birthday... and that is just plain nuts!!!

A little party update:
Doug and I have been crafting away
Filled the goody bags
Cut more snow flakes in one night, then I have in my whole life
Ordered the food
Spoke with Sarah about our super special custom cake just for Emma

It is a little over a week away, and it is going to be crazy!

Christmas dinner at the AguiƱaga home

After my parent's house we headed to Valley Center to go to my Uncle Ruben & Aunt Kelleen's home.

All of the kids, except Daylon who was taking a nap.
So excited that Emma was here for this year's picture, she missed last year's picture by a few weeks.

The kids gift exchange.

Poor Emma was so tired from all of the partying.

Then it was time for the adult gift exchange...
Rosi was the lucky recipient of the gift that Doug and I worked on.
Since this side of the family is primarily Mexican, we went with a George Lopez theme.
We quoted his comedy sketches and included items such as Pecsi and Esprite.
It you haven't heard any of his comedy, then you are missing out.
It reminds me so much of my family.
"You want a Happy Meal, well then get Happy Cabron!"

We had a wonderful time with all of our family, and I couldn't have picked a better way to spend Emma's first Christmas!

Christmas morning

Christmas morning we headed over to my parent's house and opened all of our gifts there.

Uncle Andy stayed the night so that he could join us with all of our Christmas festivities.

Santa was very nice to Emma and brought her a quad, and she loves it.
She isn't really good at riding it properly yet, but she loves to climb on it.

Ebit and Jacob

Omar and Jacob, modeling the shirt we bought him.

Some one started to get really tired.

Uncle Andy and Douggie fell asleep after presents.
I tried to teach Jacob how to make some silly faces at them, I guess we need to keep practicing.

Sorry I got behind on posting...

but we have been a bit sick around here.
We have all had this lingering cold/sinus stuff, poor Emma has had the worst of it.

I decided that enough was enough and finally took Emma back to the doctor.
Good thing I did, because it turns out that Emma has a sinus infection.
Dr. McCormick gave her some antibiotics and you can already tell that they are working.

Looking pretty darn cute at the doctor.

I better finish getting ready for work, but I really will post more soon.

Christmas Eve

Every year our family goes to mass at 5:30 on Christmas Eve.
After mass, we headed over to our house for dinner together.

We were so lucky to be joined by, my parents, Ebit, Omar, Jacob, Franco (Omar's brother), Grandma Mina (Omar's mom) and Uncle Andy.
Sure we had a crowded dining room, but it was perfect that way.

Looks like Ebit caught Jacob under the mistletoe.

Look at our little walking lady!
Can I tell you how much I love her Christmas dress, she looked so darn cute in it!

I love this sweet picture!

And what better way to wind down for the night, then by spinning around your cousin in the chair?!

Silly kiddos!!!

We opened our Christmas Jammies and then we all headed off to bed to wait for the big man in red.
Thank you everyone for a great Christmas Eve!

Desert Family Christmas

On the 23rd we headed over to the Rose family home for our annual Desert Family Christmas.
We had lots of great food and lots of great friends!

Emma happens to be the only little kiddo, and they spoiled her!
She received lots of fun toys, would ya take a look at that Dora ride on car she got!
She fell in love with it instantly.

Nana, Grandfather & Noel

Wendy holding Emma, Bri and Kaylyn

Breezy & Tyler

Sorry that I didn't catch a picture of Travis, West, AJ, Bill or Brigitte, but I promise they were there also.

Poor Emma was up past her bed time, but she rallied and made all the way to the car before she passed out.

50 weeks and lunch with the ladies

Today Emma is 50 weeks old!!!

We had a great day celebrating.
Emma went and spent the morning with Abuelita Rose.
Then we met up for lunch with Kristyn & Jillian and Heather & Rachel.
We went home and napped.
Then headed off to the Rose House for our annual Desert Family Christmas, more to come on that.
Here is our silly little 50 week kiddo.
She was making raspberry noises, or as we like to call them, farting sounds.

Rachel even joined in on the noises.

The girls!!! Jillian (13 months), Rachel (almost 9 months) and Emma (11 1/2 months).

After lunch we headed outside to exchange some gifts.

I LOVE how excited Rachel is for her gift. :)

Sweet Jillian!

We had a great lunch with the girls. Every time we get together, I think to myself "we need to do this more often." And we sure do. Just next time we need to go some place where the kids can run/crawl free. My overly active kiddo doesn't like to sit still or be confined for long. Poor Jillian and Rachel must have thought that Emma was crazy.

Ladies, I can't wait until our next get together!

A very Happy 50 weeks to our active kiddo!
Mama and Dada love you lots!

Doing a little good goes a long way!

So last week I had the pleasure of meeting a group of homeless people.
I was able to take part in an amazingly generous act.
That generous act gave homeless people and those in need clothing, shoes, gift cards and hope.
40 lucky people were even given a place to stay for 12 days.

The one thing that we weren't able to give them was food.
Sure they received some gift cards for some fast food, but those run out.

I decided that I wanted to make dinner and take it over to them.
I decided to invite along my family and boy did they come through!!!

My Mom & Dad provided all of the serving utensils, plates, napkins and forks.
The Cervantes Family provided lots of bottled water.
The Prieto Family provided French Bread.
The Covarrubias Family provided salad and cookies.
And the Stephens Family provided Spaghetti, meatballs and corn.

So we met up at my parent's house and cooked up a warm meal. Then we went to share with the homeless at the motel they were generously put up in.

Some of the family getting ready to serve.

Even little Emma was along for the ride.

And this picture of Jacob was just so cute I had to post it!

Sure I could have gone to serve dinner on my own, but I wanted to make an impact, and I think we did. Everyone kept asking "what organization are you guys with?" We simply responded, " we aren't with an organization, we are just a family who wanted to help."
One man then responded, "Well what an amazing family you have!"
Well mister, I agree!!!

I do have an amazing family! Everyday I am so grateful.
Today I feel as though we were not only able to share a warm meal for those in need, but we were able to share the gift of our family as well. They were hopefully able to see how much love we have that surrounds our family. And I don't think there is any gift more important than the gift of love!

Thank you to everyone who lovingly donated their time and goods.

Wishing you all lots of LOVE this Christmas!!!

2nd Desert Trip

This past weekend we went out to the Desert.
It was the 2nd trip for Emma and me, but it was Douggie's 1st trip. He was away in Seattle for our last one.

What a beautiful morning!!!
Pretty darn peaceful.

Uh oh, Emma found the evidence of mama's shenanigans from the night before.
Yes, she does have her paci in kinda funny. She is getting a new tooth, so she likes to bite on her paci.

Dada and Emma, my 2 favs.

Emma getting ready for a ride with Dada.
She still LOVES the quad!
I think she might like what Santa has in store for her. ;)

Mama and Emma

We had a fabulous time with our desert family!
A special thank you to Wendy for taking me for a ride in her new buggy.
And an even bigger thank you to Kaelyn for watching Emma while I went on the ride.
