Happy Halloween!

I know some of you may think I am cruel, but every year the cats get dressed up for Halloween. We only keep them in their costumes long enough to take a few pictures. Corona was hilarious! As soon as I would button up her shirt she would go limp and fall down right away. She does make an awful cute cowgirl though!
Rey freezes and stands perfectly still. We couldn't get his King's crown and cape off of him soon enough for him. He obviously hated it!

A good picture of the two was out of the question. This was the best we could get, it looks like the king shot the cowgirl.

Happy Early Birthday Kristyn!

So Kristyn's real birthday is in a couple of weeks, so we decided to celebrate early. We had a preggo pal dinner tonight. Jillian is due just a few days after her birthday, and if her labor keeps progressing as fast as it is, Jillian will come 1st! We thought it would be a good idea to sneak in one last pre-baby dinner!

The boys!

So every night after I go off to bed, Rey spends quality time with Douggie. If anyone knows Rey's personality, they would know that this cat doesn't cuddle. Now the exception is he will cuddle, just as long as nobody else sees. Last night I was laying on the couch, and he must have thought I was asleep, because look at what I caught! No, Doug is not pissed, he was just trying to be really still so Rey wouldn't move.

Happy Birthday Chase!

This past Sunday we went to the 1st Birthday Party for Chase!  His actual birthday is next Sunday, but having the party before Halloween made it so much more fun.  All of the kids and even most of the adults came dressed up.
He started out slow of course...
and then went to town!!!  He loved his cake and had to be taken straight in for a bath afterward.  What 1st birthday would be complete without a kid covered in cake?!
Chase hung out in his jummpy while Mike and Stepheni open gifts for him.  A great idea, because I think it would have taken forever for the little guy to get through his mountain of gifts.  He did have is eye on this one, and kept trying to take out the tissue paper.

Courtney and Baby Audrey's Shower!

This past Saturday afternoon I  went to the shower for Courtney and Baby Audrey.  It was a beautiful day and the shower was beautiful as well.  I think any shower in LaJolla is bound to be beautiful no matter what.  I mean, we were a block from the beach, how perfect is that?! Courtney is married to Mark, one of Doug's good WSU friends.  How fun will it be to watch these two old college pals and their little ladies together?!

Corona approved!

I know you are probably thinking Marie has gone crazy, but we had to put together the Bumbo seat and tray.  Then we needed to make sure to get a little one's opinion.  So Corona tried it out and loved it.  I am sure Emma will too!

Preggo Pals!

Two of my closest friends happen to be pregnant along with me.  We all worked together for several years and have stayed close ever since.  And now our little ones can be close as well.  What used to be nights out for dinner and a drink or two, will soon become play dates at the park!

Kind of odd, I know!  What are 3 preggos doing at a vineyard and winery?  It is such a pretty place, why not!
I am due the 1st week of January, with Emma.
Heather is due the 1st week of April and is still waiting to find out if baby Hodgson will be a boy or girl.
Kristyn is due in 3 weeks, doesn't she look great! Kristyn is also having a girl, baby Jillian.
I can wait until we can have pictures of our little ones together.

Still Going...

While Marie was enjoying the festivities of her baby shower, Grandpa Bob and I decided to add one more finishing touch to the nursery; the double chair rail.

It really adds so much to the room and it does a great job of hiding my earlier painting mistakes.

A special thanks to Grandpa Bob for helping me out and letting me use his power tools.  We broke a personal record for only visiting Lowe's once for this project.

Baby Shower #1

This past Saturday I had my 1st shower. It was thrown by Ebit and my mom, and they did a great job. We all had a lot of fun. Maggie, Maria, Sarah & Ethan, Kristyn, Joy and Heather

The cake, isn't is adorable!

Me and Douggie. He came for the end of the shower to help open gifts and have cake.

My amazing sister Ebit.

Thank you so much for my shower!

Mom and me with Grandma Margaret and Aunt Suzie. Grandma and Aunt Suzie made a surprise drive over from Arizona to come to the shower. It meant so much to me to have them there.

Some family and old neighbors.

28 Weeks!!!

We had our 28 week appointment today and all is well!
7 MONTHS!!!
Dr. Langford says my weight is great, too bad I don't think so.

It is finished... well almost!

Mitch finished our bathroom yesterday, and we couldn't be more happy!!!
Don't pay attention to the wrinkles in the shower curtain, I was too excited to iron it.
Here is the new vanity and tower. All that is missing is the mirror and a few more decorative touches that we need to pick out.

We are so pleased with our new room, all that is left before Emma comes is the chair rail and carpet. We are getting close to having the house ready!

Busy Bathroom Bee!

Doug has been away this weekend to attend the wedding of his good friend David Allen in Spokane. So while he was away, I had a task of finding all of the bathroom needs for the remodel. I spent Friday evening and most of the day on Saturday searching San Diego, Temecula and then the coastal areas looking for vanities that had matching towers. At my last stop I found one!!! They had it in stock and it was $13 under budget. Then out to find the sink and paint. I made it to two more stores and gave up. I left home depot nearly in tears and decided that this was way to much, I needed help. Sunday after church Ebit was nice enough to go to Lowes with me and we found the sink and decided on the paint color. A special thanks to C.C. (our neighbor with really long arms that helped me unload the big boxes) and Ebit the best sister in the world. Now all that is left is the faucet, but I am leaving that one for Doug. I figure I have done my share, and he should have some say in the bathroom. I hope he likes what I picked.

Out with the (really) old!

How our guest bathroom looks now, but not for long...
Demo starts bright and early tomorrow morning and soon we will have a beautiful new guest bathroom for Emma. We have hated this ugly old vanity since we moved in and we are finally gettting to update it. I can't wait!

Emma's First Pumpkin

I couldn't resist posting a picture of Emma and her pumpkin.

Bate's Nut Farm (aka Nate's Butt Farm)

On Sunday, we made a trip to our favorite pumpkin patch.

Marie had a little trouble picking a pumpkin.  I picked mine within 2 minutes and 15 minutes later, Marie found this one (she's pointing to the one in the exact middle of this pile).  Unfortunately, she didn't like it and it took another 10 minutes before she found the one she liked.  Good thing the Seahawks played in the morning (if you call that playing).

Here we are with Emma's first pumpkin; just her size.

Miramar Air Show

Saturday night consisted of a trip to the Miramar Air Show.  Even with the slight precipitation (nobody from Seattle would call that rain), they were able to set off the fireworks.

Apparently Emma wasn't too thrilled with the explosions and Marie wrapped a blanket around herself to muffle the sound.  I was, however, quite impressed with the pictures that our camera took.

3D Ultrasound

On Saturday we got to see the first 3D images of our daughter-to-be.  We took a trip to the ultrasound office and were greeted by some family and friends.  It truly made the visit a great experience.

Here is one of the best pictures.  Isn't she BEAUTIFUL?!?!

Unfortunately, Emma was not too cooperative in moving her hand away from her face.  Even with the ultrasound operator poking Marie in the belly button, Emma still wouldn't move that hand.

26 Weeks!!!

Time is flying by! I am already 26 weeks, not too much longer to go!
The most common phrase I have heard over the past week is "Wow you have really popped out!!!" Not something I really need to hear, because if anyone realizes I am getting bigger, it is for sure me. At least they aren't saying "you are huge" yet, I am really looking forward to that one.
Doug and I have been going to our childbirth classes once a week. This Wednesday we just had our 3rd class. Only 2 more to go and then we graduate and can officially become parents!

While the parents are away the boys will play!!!

This past Saturday night we watched Jacob, so mommy and daddy could go out for a birthday dinner. We took Jacob to Boomers and he had a blast! Jacob and Douggie in the "race car."

He loved the go karts.

So this planter might make you wonder, but there is a funny story behind it. After getting off of the go karts Jacob went running ahead of us. We asked him to slow down and wait for us, so he turned around to listen but kept running. Then we yelled "watch where you are going" but it was too late. He tripped over the planter and laid there like superman, with his feet in the air and his arms sprawled out. To top it off he had his face in the little bush and leaves in his hair. Doug handled himself perfectly and made sure Jacob was ok. Not me, I began laughing hysterically. Doug joined in the laughter once he realized that Jacob was ok and then he said "that was the funniest thing I have ever seen him do" That says a lot, because the kid is quite a character.

Playing Spider Stomp.

Jacob stayed the night and in the morning we got up early and made blueberry waffles for uncle Douggie. Jacob was a great helper, although he did take breaks from helping to eat his cookie.

After all of his hard work he got to sit down and enjoy his breakfast.
