First 5k of 2015

For 2015, I have challenged myself to do a 5K/race each month.
My sister is such a champ, and she decided to join me.

On January 25th, we did our first 5k for the year.
Two days before the race, I rolled my ankle.
It made for a difficult run, but I did it!
Liz kicked butt and finished way before me!

I am looking forward to our February race.
Fingers crossed my ankle will be in better shape!

Ballet

Emma just started a new season of ballet this month.
She still loves it and has been doing so well.

Gymnastics with Emma

Emma has been taking gymnastics again since September.
She loves it!
She has moved up a couple of levels and is doing so well.
Doug and I have been having so much fun watching her skills improve over the past few months.

First desert trip of 2015

January 16-18, 2015
We went to Ocotillo Wells for a weekend of beautiful weather, fun with friends and unfortunately the flu.
I started out with a little cough on Friday and by Saturday afternoon, a fever and the full blown flu.
Doug was Super Dad and took such great care of me and the girls.

By Sunday, the flu was spreading to Doug and so we decided it was best to pack up early.
We made great time and got home just in time to see the amazing Packer and Seahawk game.
Go Hawks!

Emma's 6th Birthday Party

 Saturday January 10, 2015
Emma had a Frozen themed Birthday Party at Ice Plex.
We all had so much fun and it was hilarious to see so many people ice skate.

Emma had so much fun... we all did!

Peter's retirement party

On Wednesday January 7th, my boss retired after 18 years of working for the City of Escondido.
17 of those years were spent at the Sports Center with me.
His first day at the Sports Center and his last day.

On Friday January 9th, we had a retirement party for him at Cocina del Charro.
We were so thrilled to see so many current and former co workers come and wish him well.

Allen (our former supervisor), me and Peter.

I am going to miss working with Peter so much, but I am so happy for him.
Peter truly is the best boss I have every had. He has always been so supportive of me and he always believed in me.
Congratulations on your retirement Peter!

Elle's dental surgery

January 7, 2015
On the morning of Emma's birthday, our sweet Elle had some dental surgery performed at Children's Hospital.
She was born with some dental issues and thankfully her dentist was able to do some procedures to help our girl.

Elle was so cute in her hospital gown... and that diaper tush hanging out was adorable!

She took a little while to wake up from anesthesia, but otherwise everything went so well!

Our tired girl on the way home.

Once we got home, all she wanted to do was cuddle, and I was perfectly fine with that!

We are so thankful that Elle did so well. She was such a trooper!

We are so thankful that Abuelita was able to help out at our home while we were away with Elle. She was such a huge help and made sure that our Birthday girl Emma made it to school with her special treats for the class.

We are so thankful that Papa was able to come with us to the hospital. He got up bright and early to be there for Elle.

We are so thankful that Emma was such a sweet big sister. She was so concerned about Elle and she wasn't the least bit worried that Elle got lots of extra attention on her birthday.

Happy 6th Birthday Emma!

January 7, 2015
Our sweet girl turned 6!
Happy Birthday Emma Rose!

An early Birthday dinner for Emma

January 6, 2015
The night before Emma's Birthday we went our for dinner.
She got to pick the restaurant and she picked Chuck E Cheese.
So crazy that our little girl is now 6!

Crazy ladies!

Our girls sure make us laugh!
They have such different and fun personalities.

One afternoon at lunch, Emma did this.
Me - "Emma what are you doing?"
Emma -  "Shaving my legs"
Doug and I then had very surprised looks on our faces.
Emma - "Ok, I will just wait until we get home."
Good idea kiddo, and while you are at it, stop growing up so fast!!!

Elle can be such a crazy Wild One and then just like that you see her softer side.

We love our little ladies so much!

Bowling

January 1, 2015
On New Year's Day, we had a fun lunch out and then we went bowling.
Emma and Elle had so much fun and Doug and I loved watching our sweet ladies!

New Year's Eve

After our crazy road trip, we decided to take it easy on New Year's Eve.
Papa and Abuelita came over and we celebrated early with sparklers.
It was relaxing and exactly what we needed.
