Our fun filled weekend

The Kok family came for a visit this weekend.
While they were here, we did lots of fun things together.

We went to Sea World together...
The Jacobs family was also in town, so we all battled the threat of rain together.

Then we had dinner together...
Ebit and Douggie couldn't go to Sea World, but they did join us for dinner.

Saturday we all went to Playwerx...

Then off to the beach...

Saturday evening we had dinner at Papa and Abuelita's...

Then we went for a treat at the Yogurt Factory for a sweet treat...

Sunday morning the Kok family headed off to Palm Springs for the week.
We can't wait to visit with them again next Sunday!

Last week

We had a fun time last week.
Since I didn't blog about it then, I guess I will catch you up on it now.

We celebrated Valentine's day by sharing some presents.
And Douggie and I went out to dinner while Papa and Abuelita watched Emma.

Tuesday evening we went to Taylyr's 13th Birthday Pizza party.
Turns out, Emma loves pizza.

Wednesday evening we went to "running school" gymnastics.

And Thursday, the Kok family came into town for a visit.
Check out all of our fun weekend adventures in the other post.

Saturday with Baby Andrew

Emma was probably the happiest girl in the world yesterday evening.
She loves Baby Andrew, and lucky for us, we had to opportunity to watch him while his folks went to a wedding.

After playing at the house for a bit, we headed to the mall.

Douggie took the kids on the train ride.

Then we had some ice cream.
Emma was in heaven, but Andrew wasn't too sure about ice cream.
Turns out he has never had it, and was more into the Cheetos we brought.

Emma was beyond tired and passed out on the way to the car.

But not Andrew.
He stayed awake and cuddled with me while watching Dora.

Then Papa and Abuelita brought over JuJu and we all had dinner together.
His folks were at the same wedding.

Emma was still talking about baby Andrew today.
I think it is safe to say she had a great time.
And Andrew... he was an angel!

We have a big girl!

This is the last picture you will see of Emma in her crib with a pa (paci).
Today was a HUGE day for us here.

She dumped all of her pa's in to a baggie.

Every single one of them.

And we took them to the babies at the hospital that needed them.
Before you totally freak out, they aren't going to actually use them.
Emma just had to have a reason to give them up.
She loves babies and so we convinced her that there are so many babies at the hospital that need her pacis to go night night.
She loved the idea!
She handed over her baggie of pacis to the nurses and we are officially done with them.

Just so the nurses wouldn't think that we were completely nuts, we brought them some cookies and candy.
We made sure to give the goodies to the NICU nurses, because we have such an appreciation for them. When Emma was born, she was in the NICU for 3 days. There we were two brand new parents with a sick kiddo and those nurses were amazing. So understanding and caring.
We were only there for a short time, but they were so good to us.

As we walked away we explained to them to feel free to trash the pacis as soon as we were out of sight..

Then we took her to the cafeteria for some special big girl juice as a treat.

When we got home Douggie transformed her crib into a big girl bed.

Emma gladly helped.

She was thrilled to see her transformed bed.

Tonight at bed time it was a smooth transition.
She quietly asked for her pa one time and then I reminded her that the babies have them now. Emma doesn't need them anymore because she sleeps in a big girl bed. She quietly said "okay."

It did take her a little longer to fall asleep tonight, but overall a very successful night as a big girl with no tears.
Fingers crossed that we continue to do well with this transition.

Gymnastics

Emma and I went to our 1st Mommy and Me Gymnastics class this evening!
Emma loved it and had so much fun.

We also loved having our good friend Rachel and her mommy Heather in our class.

Emma loved running, hopping, galloping and tip toeing to the music.

Rachel loved the hopping and running, but didn't like the rest.

Emma was really good at following Miss Shandra.

The girls doing the bear walks.

Twirling their magic wands and hopping on the beam.

I think Rachel would have slid down the slide all night if Heather would have let her.

Somersault time.
Cartwheel... well sort of. :)

And the class ends with stamps on your feet.

I had a great time with the kiddo and can't wait for class next week!

After "jumping & running school" (as Emma calls it), we went for a little ice cream treat.
She was in heaven!

Ready for Gymnastics

Tomorrow evening Emma starts her Mommy and Me Gymnastics class.
We are so excited! We tried on our leotard and practiced some moves to make sure we were ready.

Did some stretches.

And then decided that her toenails were too long so she tried to bite them. Disgusting!

Boy is she cute in her little leotard.
I took gymnastics when I was little and I remember loving wearing the little leotards.
Something about them made me feel fancy, but too bad I was still a klutz and no good.
Hopefully Emma will be better than her Mama was, if not, at least she can look super cute.

What have we been up to?

So I was told that I used to be great at blogging... but not recently.
Well, to be honest, we have been doing a whole lot of ordinary everyday stuff around here, nothing crazy or blog worthy.

We had a slumber party and had JuJu over to spend the night.

We had Papa, Abuelita, Aunt, and JuJu over to watch the big game.

And we played with blocks in our Fancy Nancy Chonies.

Yes we have been doing a lot of stuff at home recently, and I have been loving it!
