Boy do we miss him!

This morning the GG's drove home to AZ and they took Rodney (Bobby) with them.
My heart nearly broke when the GG's drove off and poor little Emma was yelling "Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby!"
I think she thought that they were taking her dog away.
It almost made me want to go out and find a little cocker spaniel just for her.

We are going to miss you Bobby!
We had a super fun summer playing with you.

Happy 60th Abuelita Rose

This evening we had a little dinner party for Abuelita Rose.
Even though we celebrated her birthday last weekend at the river, we had to celebrate today, because it is her actual birthday.

U. Mike, A. Cindy, GG Bob and GG Margaret drove in from Seattle today, so the timing was perfect. Ron and Pam were able to make it over as well, since they were in town from Vegas.

I had some serious fun working on the tables/flowers.
I have been working on it in my head, so it was fun to see it come together.

The adults had filet mignon, but the kids had chicken nuggets.
Emma and JuJu sure do love their chicken nuggets!

It was a perfect evening for a little outdoor dinner party.

Someone suckered Uncle Mike into playing "Uh uh oh."
I swear... this kid can't get enough of this video.

Papa Bob had to work, but he joined us just in time for cupcakes and ice cream.

Happy Birthday Abuelita, we love you lots!

Park of the week #9

I searched some websites for a fun park that had a "sprayground."
We decided on San Elijo Hills Park.
It was a busy park with lots of sports going on...
but we had the entire play ground to ourselves!

Wee... all smiles!

That is until she fell off the bottom of the slide into the sand, then all we heard was "uh oh!"
She isn't a fan of sand in her shoes.

So strong, Dada wasn't even holding on to her!

Then we were off to the sprayground.
"Where's the water Mama?"

Ooops, there it is!

They also have a huge beach like sandbox.
It comes stocked with sand toys for all of the kiddos.

Back to the water!

We had such a great time there!
We even struck up a conversation with the ONLY other family there.
The mom gave us a good idea for next week's park.

Emma loves to water.

One of Emma's favorite evening activities is watering the yard.
We have sprinklers for the grass, but we save the good stuff (flowers, strawberries, and tomatoes)for the hose.

Here are a few snaps from the other evening.

All of this water fun gave me an idea for our park visit... there will be lots of water fun!

Park of the week #8

Wow... I got behind on our weekly park adventures.
Well this post isn't going to help much, because we cheated last week.
We were SO busy getting ready for the river trip, that we didn't have time to fit in a park.

Doug made the decision that the RV park would count as our park of the week.
Good idea Douggie... it was a park jam packed with family and fun!

Emma's favorite thing about the park, was that everyone's shoes were laying around.
She was in heaven and tried on EVERY SINGLE PAIR!

We will be redeeming ourselves today, by going to a legit park for our #9.

Our weekend River Trip

This past weekend we went off to the Colorado River for a family trip.
We stayed at the River Breeze RV resort in Ehrensberg AZ, it is just across the river from Blythe, CA.

We were lucky enough to have all 4 spots in a row.

Friday evening we set up camp and headed straight over to the pool.
It was 113° at 5pm, so the water was a must.

Emma was a great napper at the river.
As long as she had the AC on, she was out for hours.

Saturday morning we got ready for a day on the river.
Connie made her yummy ceviche.

JuJu would have played his ds all weekend if his parents would have let him.

Then we were off to the river for the day.
So sorry that I didn't take any pictures, but I didn't want to take a chance with the camera in the crazy heat.

After cleaning up, we had our celebration night dinner.
We were celebrating birthdays for Victoria, Nathan and Abuelita Rose.

I made Wendy's seafood feast recipe by request.
Here it is cooking on the coals, it was covered in burlap to keep the steam in.

And here it is all ready to eat.
I know it was not nearly as good as hers, but it was still pretty darn good.

David Andrew was such a trooper and was so good the entire trip.

After dinner we had a little "funny RoseMary story" sharing.
There were some hilarious ones that I had never heard before.
We were celebrating a very special birthday, so we wanted to make it extra special for Rose.

She proudly sucked on her "60 Sucks" lolipop.

Happy Birthday Time!

The kids had a blast playing video games outside.

Some of us took a little walk/ride down to the river.
Douggie was so talented holding his beverage while riding the scooter.

Zeke

Cousins... Marie, Ebit and Cris
Man you can tell we were in the sun all day.

Then Sunday morning we had a great breakfast and packed up.

It was such a fun weekend!
I can't wait for our next river trip.

A very special THANK YOU to Andy for house/dog/cat sitting for us!
