20 Weeks!!!

We love our little gal and to celebrate her 20 week birthday, here are are a few of our favorite pictures from this week.

We love bath time at our house. :)

She found her toes and loves to suck on them.

And we love to watch her suck on them.

She started to play like a big girl in her exersaucer.
She is growing up way too fast!

Emma, we love you so much and couldn't possibly imagine our lives without you.  Thank you for being such a good girl and putting up with your mommy and daddy so well.

Just call her Noel!

We were changing and getting ready for bed tonight and both Douggie and I thought of our good friend Noel when we snapped this picture.

Here is our nudie with just her socks on.

So the story of Noel goes like this...
last May Doug went to the bachelor party of our friend Scott.  A bunch of boys in Las Vegas, so needless to say things got a little crazy.  One morning after a long night of drinking, Doug woke up and was surprised to have our friend Noel in bed next to him.  Noel was staying two rooms down and was too drunk to realize he was in the wrong room.  Noel got out of bed and Doug yelled, "are you just wearing socks?"  Sure enough Noel was so drunk and passed out with nothing but his socks in bed with Doug.  It freaked Doug out a bit, but it sure makes for a good laugh. :)

Happy 35th Anniversary!

We would like to wish my parents a very Happy Anniversary!
35 years and still going strong!
To think it all started at Dr. Dann's office when my mom asked my dad to go to a wedding with her. Then one year later they were married.

Mr. & Mrs. Prentice

We wish you both all of our love for many more happy years.
We can't wait for Disneyland!

Love,
Doug, Marie & Emma
Sunday evening we went to the Taylor Swift concert.

Here are the ladies: Bri, me, Ebit and Cris.  Noel and Doug joined us as well.

Kellie Pickler was one of her openers.

She had a surprise appearance at the back of the arena, so we got much better pictures then.

Taylor put on a great show.  Dougie isn't the hugest fan, but he said she was still really entertaining.

BBQ at the Jeansonne home.

Saturday evening we headed up to the Jeansonne home for a pool party and BBQ.

Grandma Rose joined us, here she is giving Emma a bottle.

:) So darn cute! :)

Daddy made sure to take good care of Emma and keep her nice and warm. It actually turned out to be a chilly evening. I know Memorial Day weekend chilly?

Emma looks worried for what was about to happen next...

A little drinking competition, me and the beer bong vs. Noel and the pitcher.

Guess who is number 1!  I know I am just as proud of myself as you all are.

I love weekends!

We had a busy weekend, so we started out a little lazy on Saturday morning just hanging out in bed.
So silly, and oh so cute!

Then we decided to have a little fashion show.  We were going to a BBQ/pool party in the afternoon so Emma had to try on her bathing suit.
Something about this adult like triangle top on her... adorable!
Don't we all wish we looked as precious as this little one in a two piece... I know I sure do!

Jacob's soccer practice.

This evening, the whole family went to go watch Jacob's 1st soccer practice.
He is playing in the 3 & 4 year old division at my work.  Needless to say, these games are going to make for some entertaining Saturday mornings!!!

Such a cheese ball smile.

A little dribbling.

Here is his team, their team name is Spain.  Each team in the division is named after world wide soccer teams.

There was only one little guy who cried and didn't want to play.  You can see Jacob was trying to talk to him and convince him to play.

The little guy in the front in the red shorts, (Aiden) was already given a nick name from the coaches, they called him turbo!  He was always on the move.

Jacob was by far the most vocal on the team saying some things like:
Are you my coach?
Hi, my name is Jacob, (which he said to EVERYONE)
I'm tired!
Can we have a break?
I need to rest, I am gonna sit down.
Look I kicked the ball!

And the best was at one point he grabbed his ball and started to walk off the field.  His coach stopped him and said, "where are you going?"  Jacob replied, "it's getting late, look... the sun is going down."

I can't wait for his 1st game!  There will be some video of that for sure!

4 month appointment

This morning we had Emma's 4 month appointment with Dr. McCormick

Here are her stats:

Length - 26 inches 97th percentile

Weight - 13lbs 8 oz 50th percentile

Head Circumfrence - 40.5 cm 25th percentile

So not much has changed this month, still super long with a little head. She did pretty well on her weight gain, so well in fact that we don't have to go back until her 6 month appointment.

Once again Dr. McCormick said that Emma looks perfect.

Emma showed off and did some of her head sit-ups. Dr. McCormick told Emma that she needed to slow down. She isn't supposed to be trying to sit up like this yet. She told her to take her time and not to rush into growing up.

"Here, let me help you with that."

Poor little girl got 4 shots and 1 oral vaccine. She is a bit sleepy tonight, but she seems to be doing really well.

She even enjoyed a little tummy time.

She also really enjoyed the paper on the table. Look what a mess she made out of it.

Dr. McCormick said that we could start Emma on some solids, so we did. This evening we gave her rice cereal to start.

She wasn't a huge fan at first, but then really like it! :)

I love her little messy face. :)

Our little girl is growing up!

What a klutz!!!

My dad once questioned me... "Marie , how were you ever Miss Escondido, you aren't what you would call graceful?"
Well my Dad is a smart man, and right on with me not being graceful.
This morning I stepped on the side of my ankle and did this...
It hurts like heck!
Notice that my right ankle is swollen.

We were on our way out the door this morning to head to Emma's doctor appointment. I was loading my stuff in the car and then walked to the other side when I stepped on the side of my foot. That's right, I didn't trip on anything, I just can't walk.

The best part is that once I did it I tried to walk and couldn't put pressure on it. I was on the slanted part of the driveway and the momentum got the best of me and I ended up running into the street. I screamed and cried and poor Douggie was so confused.

BBQ

So if our weekend wasn't busy enough for you, we decided to have my folks over for a little BBQ this evening.

Emma showed off her new toy, the super yard.  She can now scooch her self across the room doing what Douggie calls an earthworm crawl. So we decided it was time to keep her contained and we picked up a super yard for her.
She loves it and Corona even joined her for a bit.
We will post a video of the earthworm crawl soon.

Emma joined us outside for dinner, looking like such a big girl in her high chair.

Thank you for a yummy BBQ Douggie!

Esco street fair

This afternoon we joined my family and headed to downtown Esco for the semi-annual street fair.
Emma ate right when we got there so she slept through most of it.  Don't worry, we closed the shade right after the picture.  I am not crazy, skin cancer runs in the family, and I wouldn't take a chance with her super fair skin.

Jacob went on a llama ride.
I love this picture for two reason:
a) the fake surprised look on Ebit's face, (far left)
b) the look on the llama's face, I can tell he is thinking 'get this darn kid off of me.'

Jacob enjoyed the ride as you can tell.

What an exciting day for Jacob, then he got to sit in a real fire truck.

Once again Emma was asleep, so she posed quietly in front of the truck.

Jacob even got to ride the imitation Dumbo ride.  Despite the look on his face, he loved it and cried when we left.  He kept saying, 'I'm not done riding.' That was until he saw the ice cream booth, and then he cried and yelled, 'I want ice cream.'

Thanks for a fun day at the street fair.

A lazy Sunday morning.

So this morning we hung out around the house and rested our tired legs.  Which by the way, they feel much better now.  :)
I joined Emma on the floor and we played and took lots of pictures.

Corona and Emma have become great friends.  Corona is very patient with her, even when Emma pulls her fur.  Don't worry we are always close by just in case.  And we are always ready to get all of the fur out of her hands. Corona is no dummy, she realizes that now that Emma has come along, that is where the attention is.  Of course she loves attention too, so she is never far away from Emma.

Emma loves to watch Corona, and watches her every move.
Rey on the other hand is very protective of Emma, but keeps his distance.  In typical cat form, he joins the family when he pleases.  His time with Emma is bath time.  Every bath time without fail, you will see daddy giving Emma a bath, and Rey sitting right behind Douggie just watching over Emma, so sweet!

Emma doing one of her 'head sit-ups' as Tía Lizzy calls them. She is getting so strong, and she will have kickin' abs in no time!!!

Love that face, you can see she really enjoyed my rendition of Biz Markie, 'You say he's just a friend.'  I love that she doesn't care that I am tone deaf.

I know I say this often, but come on, look at those eyes!

Saturday Night Soccer!

Last night was our pre-season tournament game for our summer soccer season.  Douggie and I joined a Coed B soccer team at my work.  The team consists of bits and pieces of old soccer teams that we played with before.  Now mind you, I have played soccer before, probably for about 7 years off and on.  But I sure don't play well.  I was always considered the 'princess' who just ran around aimlessly on the field.

Well not much has changed, except now a couple of the other team mates coach me along, so I don't look as aimless, but I am still no good.  Our team, 'Esco Reunited' is sure going to be a fun team to play with, we had a great time last night!

Here is Douggie and Barb playing a little defense
.
Here are our tired feet.

You may ask why our feet are so tired after one soccer game, not just because we are out of shape, but because we didn't just play one game.  We won our first game 2 - 1, then played a second one.  My parents took Emma home and I said that we would grab her after the next game. I called my dad after the 2nd game and said 'you're not gonna believe this, but we won again in a shoot out, we have a 3rd game at 7 pm.'  Well we played that 3rd game and even came close to winning that game,  we tied and lost in a shoot out.

This new mom is way too out of shape for this 3 games in one night sh*t!!!
Luckily there is only one pre-season tournament, the rest of the season we will only have one game a week.

Kudos to Heather who is an all star soccer player, and even joined our team just 6 short weeks after having Rachel.

Gotta love this little gal!

We had some fun tummy time this evening, and I think I went a little camera crazy. I just couldn't resist, she is way too cute! :)

Love those eyes...

and those perfect little lips.

She loves her hand these days.

Playing with her guitar.  Daddy loves playing his guitar to Emma, so it was her turn to share some skills.

Probably the cutest bubbly smile I have ever seen!

Giving daddy some kisses. Most people would be disgusted with open mouth drooly baby kisses, but we love them around here.
